O___O Ahem, can I get more information on this "Era Clash -Final Fantasy VII-" April Fools thing? | |||
Bh: I know, weird. --UndyingvsSephiroth 23:52, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
- Era Clash -Final Fantasy VII- was actually an April Fools prank that I headed up for www.adventchildren.net, mostly spurned on by the fact that the last episode of Before Crisis was released on March 31st and ended its credits with a teaser that there'd be a new release to look forward to in May, or something like that. It was mainly to have fun with various websites which copied our news, translations, and features without permission or credit as well as the people who pitch a fit every time a new mobile title is announced.
- I used two screenshots from the Dirge of Cerberus Multiplayer Mode, a photograph of Yoichi Wada from an old press conferance, created a character portrait for Usher in the Before Crisis style, and photoshopped an admittedly terrible logo using a picture of a SOLDIER from the FFVII Ultimania Omega. Wrapped it up in a fake news article about a press conferance for the Compilation focusing on the success of Before Crisis and its upcoming sequel, Era Clash. Voila.
- As near as I can recall, the fake premise of EC was that the player would select one of the members of the 13th SOLDIER Force "Ragnarok", who like the Turks of BC (and cast of Agito), were named by the player and had a variety of weapons, appearances, and personalities. The plot would cover the war with Wutai and would lead up to the year [ν] - εγλ 0000 (nu era 0000), hence the title, while giving deeper information on the way SOLDIER worked and letting players team up with Sephiroth and Zack. Unlike BC, it would be in full-3D and only for really high end Japanese phones, making an English release nearly impossible.
- So, in short, Era Clash was a joke. Usher is real, though. Well, he's a technically an illusion created by Shelke, but he really exists in DC's Multiplayer Mode. You know what I mean. His name probably comes from the fact that he "ushers" the player through the game. FF-Suzaku 02:59, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
