Name and Plot[]
This concerns not only the article's name, but our plot coverage of TAY. First, where does the name "True Moon" come from? I looked through the script on GameFAQs, it doesn't say "True Moon" any where. The only places True Moon is used is an artwork label and a track title.
Furthermore, examination of the script reveals that this is not the second moon, it is a new moon. The two moons we see in TAY are not the Red Moon and this moon, they are a normal moon and this moon. This Moon is always stated to be the "new moon", even by the Creator. It's mostly in the ending, but it is the new moon.
Furthermore, it is outright stated the second moon that everyone is worried about is not the Red Moon. Admittedly there seems to be confusion in-game over this - it is repeatedly said 'the second moon has returned', but it is indicated just as frequently that others believe it is just the arrival of another 'second moon' and not that they believe it to be the Red Moon. As for the statements it isn't the same:
Then, in the Lunarians's Tale we see Golbez depart from the Red Moon and head to earth in the Lunar Whale, and he sees the Creator's Moon approach earth. This confirms that the Red Moon did not return and the Creator's Moon is the second moon. 5:50 at the first vid, 1:15 in the second.

Seems like a no-brainer to me. Precisely this issue has actually mildly bugged me in the past, but I just assumed I hadn't done enough research, having not played TAY. So, yeah, I'd say change it. Even if it's going to make it sound like Twilight >_> Category: Agreement
let's make this real simple. True Moon =/= regular moon: Agree. The text is really convoluted and weird, but it's pretty clear that we're dealing with three seperate moons, one of which (the Red Moon) doesn't get close enough to appear in orbit. Rename to New Moon: Disagree. Official text declares it the True Moon, as you pointed out, and the people who call it the new moon never do so in capitalized letters like they would if it was a proper name. Making New Moon into a disambig should be more than adequate.
What Jim says. It's pretty obvious from the dialogue that there seem to be three moons around the Blue Planet, but the term "new moon" is never used as a proper noun, as opposed to the term "True Moon". The latter may be a little misleading, but it's the only official name we have, so I think we should stick with it. We could explain the situation within the article and create a "New Moon" as a redirect.
Confirmed 100%, the Red Moon never returned and the Creator's Moon is the second moon. As seen in those clips, the Lunarian moon is blue and the Creator's moon is yellow-ish. The beginning of the Lunarian tale, Corio looks through the telescope in Agart, and we see the Creator's moon move into position over a pale white moon, which is obviously the third, normal moon.
And that's that. | |||
the japanese name for it is 真月. 真 can be interpreted as both 'true' and 'new'. "true moon" and "new moon" are just translations of the same source. it seems the official localization likes to refer to it as the latter, with no capital letters.92.13.76.64 00:14, July 15, 2011 (UTC)
- Late, but point of order: 真 cannot be interpreted to mean "new". It is pronounced the same as 新, which does mean "new", but 真 only means "true". Transfinite 02:05, October 12, 2011 (UTC)
