Name?[edit source]

At the top of the page, the creator of triple triad is said to be Orlan, but at the bottom, it's spelled Olan. Is it suppose to be like that, or is one of them a typo? BrokenDamageLimit 06:05, August 2, 2010 (UTC)

I think that is just a difference in how to localise the name from Japanese. Whatever his name was in War of the Lions should be the official spelling. Keltainentoukokuu 13:58, August 2, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu

Multiple GF Cards[edit source]

This is an interesting idea that I never thought of, I always like getting everything before Disk 4. anyway what does it mean by will only retain one of each? That it says in the victory screen you obtained the card but you simply don't get one in your stock. And why does it only mention Bahamut and Odin, couldn't pretty much any GF Card that you get though battle with the exception of Cerberus be obtained twice? Oni Dark Link 00:53, July 1, 2012 (UTC)

It says at the end of battle that congrats here's your card, but in the menu you still have just one, so the other one just never gets added. Good point about the cards, at least Brothers and Eden also apply.Keltainentoukokuu 01:02, July 1, 2012 (UTC)

Split[edit source]

Triple Triad is also a minigame in FFXIV so FFVIII and FFXIV should be kept on separate articles. Make this into a parent page or make Triple Triad redirect to Card Minigame? (latter I'd think) Final Fantasy VIII Triple Triad cards also should be moved.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 16:37, February 19, 2015 (UTC)

I think explaining how to play Triple Triad here makes sense, and then parent each version of the minigame on child pages. Those child pages won't have to explain the rules, though they would still need to say "The rules [Triple Triad#Plus|Plus], X, Y" are in it in some form. JBed (talk) 17:03, February 19, 2015 (UTC)
I think we should change it to "Final Fantasy VIII Triple Triad cards". The "List of Tetra Master Cards" page can be renamed "List of Final Fantasy IX Cards" similarly.--Magicite-ffvi-ios.png Technobliterator TC 17:44, February 19, 2015 (UTC)
Ambiguity; although I guess it's called "Card" in the menu. JBed (talk) 17:54, February 19, 2015 (UTC)
Are the rules going to be exactly the same, though? I assume you can play against other players in FFXIV, which could change the nature of card trades etc.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 17:56, February 19, 2015 (UTC)
The basic rules are going to be the same. Triple Triad is played on a 3x3 board, cards have four numbers from 1 to 10 that battle adjacent numbers. There are certain rules for trading, additional rules for taking cards. Seeing others cards or not, selecting random cards from hand or not. Cards can have elements that can also appear on the board and these effect the outcomes.
The "Triple Triad" article would end up being more like an out-of-universe explanation of the game of Triple Triad. While each individual game article would explain the gameplay applications of Triple Triad in the specific version. JBed (talk) 18:04, February 19, 2015 (UTC)

Well here's a start. I was unsure how much to detail the rules Same, Plus, Combo, etc, now it just says they exist. The FFXIV cards seem to have stars rather than elements; I don't know what those mean.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 18:55, February 19, 2015 (UTC)
