The frail line between Strength and Attack[]

I actually was confused about that myself.--BigCubby 14:49, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

X-2 Vigor[]

I believe White Mages in X-2 have a move which heals and has nothing to do with strength. I think it is called Vigor.--BigCubby 14:49, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Yes, you are correct. Vigor (or Vigour in my version) is a heal self ability which doesn't cost MP, but I'm confused as to why you've mentioned it here. Jeppo 15:13, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Well I searched for Vigor and it redirects it here and I just wanted to make a new article for the healing spell but I know not how redirects work and stuff.--BigCubby 15:16, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Leave it to me. I'll disambig Vigor/Vigour so that you can make your article. Jeppo 15:20, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
EDIT: OK, done. Jeppo 15:23, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Alright thanks. Right now it is a Stub but I can work on it later. I just need to play my X-2--BigCubby 15:33, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

FFII[]

Origins (and other versions too but I'm using Origins names) has an "Attack" stat and "Strength" stat. First, this page only covers Strength--- where the hell is Attack covered?

Second, what is "Attack"? My characters all fight unarmed. All their Endurance stats are 99. Guy's Strength is 63 while Maria's is 51. So why is Maria's Attack 153 while Guy's is 159? Where did this "Attack" number come from? 79.69.195.219 14:36, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

Both characters have since increased Strength by 1 and their Attack has both increased by 1. So Attack does factor Strength-- and I would also assume Weapon if they had one equipped, and I would also assume Mastery-- but unless Maria is inherently stronger with her fists than Guy there's no other difference. 79.69.195.219 15:18, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

Strength / Attack Power split proposal[]

Okay, so every main series game except VIII, X and XIII has separate strength and attack power stats, which are used together to calculate damage for weapon-based attacks. There's been some chatter on the talk page about creating a separate attack power article, but it seem that no one's gotten around to it yet. So does anyone feel like making a separate attack power article? If no one beats me to it and no one objects, I'll probably make one some time later this month. -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 03:18, June 7, 2014 (UTC)

I agree with splitting. Sounds good to me. --Shockstorm 03:22, June 7, 2014 (UTC)

FFVII and Crisis Core tables[]

Firstly, do we really need the stat at every single level for Crisis Core's table when most of the info goes on Zack's page? Surely we can just do it, like, every 10 levels or so?

Secondly, do we need to add the stats for every single characters' strength at every level for FFVII too? I would say "no", or say "only every 20 levels" here. But I don't honestly mind either way when that info already exists on their characters' pages.

...going by the "the info exists on their characters' pages", do we need these at all?-- Technobliterator TC 23:28, December 24, 2014 (UTC)

I would say "not here". We should have List of Stats pages and there it should be said. For every level for comparison purposes (which shouldn't be that hard to do since we have all the calculations prepared).
In-depth game stat comparisons between characters should not be used on this page. Parent pages are meant to be more of a general overview. JBed (talk) 00:11, December 25, 2014 (UTC)
Going to remove if I get no opposition.-- Technobliterator TC 14:59, December 26, 2014 (UTC)

Attack[]

Should we split "Strength" and "Attack"? They often appear both in the same game as two different stats.-- Technobliterator TC 18:02, April 5, 2015 (UTC)

Support, they should be separated. Fenrir9 (talk) 18:46, April 5, 2015 (UTC)
lol, throughout the history of this talk page, there have been many "split" suggestions never followed up on. I'll try and do it.-- Technobliterator TC 21:34, April 5, 2015 (UTC)
