This article mentions a property called "Item Chance" but there is no mention of this property anywhere else for reference, so the formula cannot be used (except when applied to Turbo Ethers, since the articles provides that item's Item Chance.) What is the Item Chance of a Ribbon, for example? 174.242.69.82 17:59, February 17, 2020 (UTC)
- It depends on each individual enemy. The Tonberry article says its chance for Turbo Ether is 9/64, so that apparently becomes 8 for the formula here. This GameFAQs guide has the Steal mechanics perhaps better explained. Why is ours 9/64 and theirs just "8" for the same item, I don't know!
- Ribbon can't be stolen from anyone.
- Just look at the enemy you want to steal from to see the chance.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 18:59, February 17, 2020 (UTC)
- I'm thinking that the "item chance value" for Tonberry's Turbo Ether is 8, but that 1/64 is the base, so +8 becomes 9/64 on the Tonberry article.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 20:55, February 17, 2020 (UTC)
- Yeah. So for drops, the value in the data is a value between 0 and 63, but in effect it's a fraction from 1/64 to 64/64.
- Steals are the same when the thief is ten levels higher than the target, but when they're not it's a bit more complicated. I think I made the steal display on enemy pages like it is to be consistent with the drops, but it is probably misleading because you can't determine the actual steal chances without this formula, and adding 1 to the value(/displaying it as a fraction) on the pages means you can't even do that.
