Staves versus Wands/Rods[]

Just for the record, I did make a note for FFXI on the staff/wand relationship. White Mages have access to Hexa-strike, a wand weapon skill, while Black Mages tend to use Staves, though in all honesty both use staves for non-combat things. This has a lot to do with White Mages being able to wield small shields while Black mages cannot. --TacticAngel 23:47, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Unique staff page[]

A few reasons we don't do it. The first is it lacks notability. Excalibur, Rising Sun, Masamune, Staff? Staff it self refers to a lot of weapons.

The second is Staff (set of weapons) and Staff (unique weapon) both still share the "weapon" thing. These share a page.

You can talk more about each individual staff on this page, I hate lists myself, but there doesn't need to be two individual pages. ILHI ^{22:58, 11 July 2009 (UTC)}

		Eh...that's part of the reason I made the article was to set it apart from all the other staves out there (since as you said it, lists are annoying), and I dunno....would that mean that Knife (weapon) is useless to keep then too? It's really hard for me to tell what gets an article and what doesn't at this point in the game (considering how many things have an article now, and I'm still going with them x_x). I was just tired of seeing articles with Staff {like the List of Weapons articles} just link to the Staff page and not give anything on the weapon itself I suppose, and talking about ALL of each weapon on a weapon page like Staff would just be cluttered and horrendous if you ask me ^^;;

But a weapon called "Staff" isn't notable in the slightest. It's a basic type of "Staff". Giving it a page is a tad pointless because it has no recurring features. Just it's a staff type weapon. It's also not notable at all within just the Final Fantasy series. ILHI ^{16:25, 12 July 2009 (UTC)}
