Gilgamesh: Enough expository banter!
This talk page is used for discussing improvements to the page "Snow (cat)". It is not the place for general discussion or sharing stories about the topic of this article.

I'm not sure there is enough info to make an article on this as the cat doesn't do anything in the game and it doesn't have any story attributed to it, other than Yuj apparently looks after it after Serah's gone? Also, the tag could be confused with Snow the character in FFXIII-2.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 17:08, February 21, 2013 (UTC)

And I wanted to say this, but Keltie beat me to it :( . If we really want to keep this article, I suggest moving it to "(Final Fantasy XIII-2 Pet)".—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 17:14, February 21, 2013 (UTC)
As far as I am concerned, fails the notability check. Two sentences on Final Fantasy XIII-2 characters. Unless there was a small storyline mission I forgot about, or a sidequest about the cat I forgot about. And unless the cat is going to appear in LR. 92.24.164.105 18:00, February 21, 2013 (UTC)
Snow, the cat, was part of a storyline mission, yeah: Serah, Mog, and Noel were trying to catch it while searching for an artefact. Well, the cat didn't have an artefact, but I think it triggered some memory scene: I'll need to check on YT to be certain as I don't remember right now.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 18:04, February 21, 2013 (UTC)
Well, if that is the case, then we have some substance to expand this article. Add some appearance comments. Also add a name comment. We'll have at least a two paragraph article, and substantial content to argue it is better in an article than on the LoCharacters. 92.24.164.105 18:12, February 21, 2013 (UTC)
I managed to improve the article quite a bit but I can't make {{-}} and {{endspoiler}} work well together (in the order I just wrote). Could anyone fix it? And yes, I tried {{-|left}} and {{-|right}}.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 14:35, February 22, 2013 (UTC)
Looks like there is more content than I thought. We could also mention some more frivolous stuff like what is that cat coloration called. XP I still think we need a new tag: Snow (Final Fantasy XIII-2) is the cat and Snow (Final Fantasy XIII-2 boss) is the DLC boss. That just looks...just. Not on. I'd be fine with Snow (Cat)...unless there are other cats called Snow...Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 14:52, February 22, 2013 (UTC)

Serah's cat is this colour: Calico cat? Add it? Would make sense with the cat's gender too.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 15:02, February 22, 2013 (UTC)

If running around and getting caught is enough story to warrant getting a page, we have a lot more pages to make. What story relevance does the cat have? Being included in a story mission isn't much if it doesn't contribute to the story. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 19:18, February 22, 2013 (UTC)

This cat is a bit more specific than any 'thing' that runs around and is caught in a game, because it is given a name and it belongs to the main protag. But yeah it is a bit iffy. I imagine there are people who search the wiki for it though. Like it's exactly the kind of thing a fanfic writer would want more specifics of, or something.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 19:25, February 22, 2013 (UTC)
Because we're catering to fanfic writers here. No, I can think of a number of other characters, just from playing Revenant Wings again, that have names and appear in exactly the same amount of story missions. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 19:27, February 22, 2013 (UTC)
Using Alicia and Lavian as an example... they appear in a lot of fanfics. Heck if I know why, maybe it's because unit names are randomized, but they aren't, so fanfic writers naturally choose them as characters, even though they have nothing to do with the story.
And RW isn't a good example because of our poor coverage of that game. C A T U S E 19:31, February 22, 2013 (UTC)
It's a perfect example because those pages don't exist. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 19:33, February 22, 2013 (UTC)
This page has content. If you have a complaint about not having pages for equally or more worthy characters in the game/other games THEN argue we need to make them, AND NOT that this one needs to go. JBed (talk) 19:28, February 22, 2013 (UTC)
I'm wondering why what all that's needed for a character page now is any content. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 19:33, February 22, 2013 (UTC)
It has content about the thing the page is about, and it has enough content that it would not look good or fit well on another page-- namely the List of Characters page where information would otherwise reside.
This article is useful for someone wanting to know about the cat. It is in no way wasteful. JBed (talk) 19:37, February 22, 2013 (UTC)
No it isn't. Bobba and Jimma might be pages now, but their time is short. Why? There's nothing to say about them, and they have no affect on the plotwhatsoever. Snow does, so his page stays. C A T U S E 19:39, February 22, 2013 (UTC)

Name Edit

I still think the article should be called Snow (Cat). It's confusing that Snow (Final Fantasy XIII-2) is the cat and Snow (Final Fantasy XIII-2 boss) is the character Snow's boss article.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 16:02, January 28, 2015 (UTC)

"Snow (Final Fantasy XIII-2 Cat)" or "Snow (Final Fantasy XIII-2 Pet)" would be better in my opinion. It is unlikely for SE to create another cat named "Snow" but I think that extended tag would be in line with our policy.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 19:17, March 1, 2015 (UTC)
But also redundant. "Snow (Cat)" is in-line with our policy. Totally unambiguous given there is only one cat called "Snow" in all of our covered games. JBed (talk) 19:57, March 1, 2015 (UTC)
Ahhhhh! JBed (talk) 20:11, March 1, 2015 (UTC)
Haha brilliant. Snow the (Final Fantasy XIII-2 Cat) it is?Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 20:14, March 1, 2015 (UTC)
I wouldn't say the Snow Cat enemy is reason to not use "Snow (Cat)". "Snow" would never refer to the Snow Cat enemy (like "Snow" would never refer to Snow Lion); and "Snow Cat" would never refer to the Snow who is a cat (like "Interceptor Dog" would never refer to "Interceptor" the dog).
I only brought it up because I semi-coincidentally saw it and thought it amusing. JBed (talk) 20:41, March 1, 2015 (UTC)

I stand by "Snow (Final Fantasy XIII-2 Cat)".—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 21:44, March 1, 2015 (UTC)
