Merge with main article? Edit
Main reason I bring this is up is due to how FFX-2 and such all have their info on here (mainly FFVIII), so see no harm in putting it on here.
But...the FFX-2 tables are still on the Lady Luck page, though. The slot result/combination tables for VII and Crisis Core aren't on the main page, either...Are you sure moving all of those tables there just won't make this page look terribly and unnecessarily cluttered?
But FFVIII's is here, and VII/X-2 have a lot of info for their stuff that WOULD make this even more cluttered than it is. Up to you guys really. Can revert the table moving to that page if you want.
If we could have either all of the tables there or none, I would say none. Just because of the possible clutter issue.
Then we'd need separate pages for each of these appearances, which almost defeats the purpose of having this page in a way if you ask me. Hmm....having them separate does make it look nicer and easier to find things, but then this page has pretty much no info on it since all of the info would be on the separate pages....bah! >_<
Instead of giving each table it's own page, can't we just leave them where they are now, and put the VI one where it was? Then only VIII's slots would need its own page, or better, a place elsewhere suitable to host it, and keep this as a parent page of sorts? Slots as a part of a Limit Break shouldn't get a page by itself, anyways.
More than likely, since I do believe Cait Sith's Slot mechanics are on the Limit page right? As long as there's SOME info on the ability here, can do that I suppose. I think the reason we don't have a Limit page for VIII is because for some reason, all of the Limits in that game got separate pages.
Ah, in that case, I would propose doing something similar to Trance (Final Fantasy IX), since some the Trance skillsets have separate pages as well.
Personally, I think that they should all be on the same page, but that's me. It WOULD be a bit cluttered though so....hmm...
I think in FFVIII everyone has separate "Limit Break" skillsets, so there is no parent page to compile them all. I'm not sure the words "Limit Break" are even mentioned anywhere in the game... You just get an arrow next to Attack that leads to the skill, Renzokuken, Duel, Shot, Slots, whatever.
VII's all share an article because the command for every single character is "Limit". Hence why the article is Limit (Final Fantasy VII) (and definitely not "Limit Break (Final Fantasy VII)" since that's not the name of the command). If each character in VII had a different command name for their Limit Break, each would get an article.
They don't... but VIII does. If a Limit Break article existed for VIII, it would just be for overall mechanics and linking to each of the character's Limit Break commands. Such a page would only be required if it extended Limit Break (ability)#Final Fantasy VIII too much. 22.214.171.124 16:35, June 13, 2011 (UTC)
VIII has the longest section on that page, twice as long as the second-longest section, VII. Whether that's because it doesn't have its own page or not, I dunno. But still I think it could be a neat little useful article if we were to create it.Oh, and @Kelt: The words "Limit Break" appear at least once in that game in my memory, when unsealing locked abilities at the end in Ulti's Castle. They probably also appear in the tutorial, but I don't remember for sure.
