Hey I don't know if I did this right so if anybody body can fix this and what missing go ahead edit it.NeoBahamutZEROX 23:14, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Question for those who've played that game - that "Iai Strike" attack is the one from KH right, where he dashes past opponents cutting them up in his wake? Drake Clawfang 17:16, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

No, it's not. You're thinking of "Empty Sky". "Iai Stike" is actually the same as "Full Swing", but in Mid-Air - Henryacores^ 18:11, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Oh, okay, well my idea goes out the window. :p Thought it was like, that instant kill move from FF7, Iainuki. Drake Clawfang 18:55, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Wait, if that move is Empty Sky, what's Flash look like then? Drake Clawfang 18:55, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
"Flash"? It's a lowsy HP attack where he pauses and then rushes at the enemy, like "Octoslash".- Henryacores^ 19:09, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Strange. You've played KH I'm sure, you know what Flash looks like there, right? So "Flash" in Dissidia looked entirely different? Drake Clawfang 19:12, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
That wouldn't be strange at all, if you look at Zidane's Dissidia Grand Lethal you'll see it has nothing to do with FFIX Grand Lethal. And the same for Cloud's Finishing Touch. --- User: Zak Undersn --- 19:30, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
I don't know the names of Sephiroth's attacks in KH, nor do I care. All I know is that they're a big pain in the rear. Also, I'd never imagine Cloud's Braver and Climhazzard were so different from the original until I cared to romanize the katakana. - Henryacores^ 20:06, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

The shade impulse section actually seems to explain Sephiroth's appearance in kingdom heart's?

Is it just me, or does this game set a new record for the length of Sephiroth's Masamune? I swear, that thing gets longer every time I see it. SilverDragon28 01:04, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

about that "Safer Sephiroth reference"[edit source]

EX Mode Attack[edit source]

If this one goes, so does Ultimecia's Time Stop. I don't see why you're deleting it, Drake, it is a move in its own right and looks nicer in a table than a mention in text. Let's leave it there, shall we? 8bit 02:29, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Well, I'm putting it back, since Gabranth has his own HP attack section for his EX charge thing, and Ulti has her EX Mode table. And it looks nice and formal. 8bit 02:49, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

For Ultimecia having one, I didn't know that, I'll remove it momentarily, same for Golbez. Gabranth is a special case, since his EX Mode functions differently. As for these three, those aren't real moves. What level do they learn these moves at? Can you equip these moves to the character? What's their AP/CP cost? I don't see the point of creating a new section and table for a single move explained perfectly well in the EX Mode section. Drake Clawfang 02:53, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
And things looking nice in tables rather than text - why stop there? With enough work we could conceivably fix the Allusion section into a table format, shall we do that? Drake Clawfang 02:57, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

"I will never be a memory"[edit source]

While Sephiroth uses the same quote for different situations, should it noted that it was possibly chosen for irony as its context can go both ways? 130.88.224.53 20:57, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

....huh? You're reading a bit much into it. Dissidia is littered with quotes and paraphrases from previous games regardless of context or not. Nothing special about this quote from the others. Drake Clawfang 21:14, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Heaven's Light[edit source]

Full Look here. The problem is I can't tell if it's a new attack or an old one, because I don't see how any of his known HP attacks could be translated like that. Drake Clawfang 07:03, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

That was Octaslash. Drake Clawfang 07:15, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Scene 45[edit source]

Could one of you please provide a link to the scene itself to prove either of your points? ScatheMote 01:02, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

The scene is at the end of this video. You'll see that Jecht doesn't have his weapon in this scene, and Kuja uses magic, that doesn't count as a weapon. Drake Clawfang

Jecht is not carrying his weapon - Disproof that all Chaos warriors have their weapons with them all the time and Kuja's absence of magic balls - proof that he doesn't have his "weapon" with him, yet he summons one magic ball as if he would draw his sword. Therefore saying all villains carry their weapons 24/7 is wrong, although this doesn't matter it's just to give the tension feeling to the scenes. Think about Advent Children as an example, Nomura stated in the making of that the characters are not meant, officially, to jump that far and be that fast, it's just to "look cool". - Kyrel
Template loop detected: Template:Video

Jecht's sword doesn't count because the only canon dipiction of him with the sword was when he took the sword out of his chest, thus proving that he does have it, and it is part of his body. As for Kuja, it's magic, meaning that it is a product of his mind. Because Kuja always has his mind with him, he always has his magic and by extension is magic balls with him.--Werefang 01:38, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

English Sephiroth is scary D:[edit source]

I just saw a gameplay vid of him for the demo. He's able to cancel Heartless Angel into Octaslash, not to mention perform Scintilla IN THE AIR. Also noticed a graphic change in Sephiroth's Shadow Flare. Kaihedgie 07:00, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Not to mention that Heartless Angel and Hell's Gate are kinda like Revolver Drive now.... meaning it has less downtime and more options for mind=gaming. --Silver Mage 09:04, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Yeah and Shadow Flare now doesn't look like s***, Looks like FFVII now... DB3602:17, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

Allusions issues[edit source]

Ff10-2-paine10.jpg

Further more his quote "The time has come" in kingdom hearts is in itself an allusion to FFVII on the ship from junon to costa de sol, when you fight jenova's arm, sephiroth (or jenova being controlled by sephiroth) appears and says "The time... is now..." and "After a long sleep... the time... time has... come." I would say this is the what the quote alludes to, not kingdom hearts Zuken 20:50, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Materia?[edit source]

Anyone else notice that Sephiroth has ten Materia inserted into his armor? There's five on each shoulder pad; you can see it in his official art and in this image here. The types of Materia seem to change from one reference to another, though.

Too small to be Materia, given he's based on his Amano art they're likely just beads. Drake Clawfang 17:26, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
Yet it's quite odd that the five beads on the render are colored red, purple, blue, white and green, which are totally not the exact same colours for the five types of materia in FFVII. - Henryacores^ 15:58, October 18, 2010 (UTC)

Too Strong[edit source]

Does anybody here think Sephiroth is just too strong? Seriously I just face him earlier and he kick my ass in a minute.  NeoZEROX Dissicon ff6 Ter4.png 04:30, September 12, 2009 (UTC)

Not for me. In fact, my pains in the ass are Warrior of Light, Golbez and Squall. I beat dear ol' Sephiroth quite easily... usually. KujaRhapsodos 23:34, November 17, 2009 (UTC)

The only thing that I think is a load of bull in the English Dissidia is that midair Hell's Gate stops about 5 ft. down instead of taking Sephiroth to the floor of the zone, so people can spam it now without worry. Otherwise he's just as OP as every other character in the game.

Sephiroth is totally awesome XD!!! He is my favorite character and the strongess with all his equipement level 100!!!--Hotdragon 295 14:43, October 18, 2010 (UTC)

*high-fives* Amen to that. As long as you know how to play as him, once you get him the One-Winged Angel and the Genji gear, plus pump his attack up with accessories; he kicks monster ass! Though the same could be said of all characters, I suppose... The thing is, it really all depends on your playing style who you struggle against. I'm a very offensive player; so I have the most trouble against defensive characters like Exdeath, who counter every freakin' move I make until I Supernova their ass.-Der Eins-Geflügeltes Engel 20:53, April 6, 2011 (UTC)

I think it really depends on who your playing as. I prefer Onion Knight, and have no problem with Sephiroth due to OK's speed. I have issues with CoD and WoL because they are good at blocking my quick attacks (and honestly CoD really sucks to fight with a melee character due to her reach).Bond em7 16:14, October 18, 2010 (UTC)

Encounter Quote help[edit source]

Vaan vs. quote

All i got was "空にも絶望しかない," "Soranimo Zetsubo shika nai." 72.184.129.252 17:13, March 13, 2011 (UTC)

DLC Outfit?[edit source]

Somebody just submitted a pic of Sephiroth as he appeared in Kingdom Hearts to the Gallery, but I can't seem to find a mention of how to get his costume.
(As in, is it for sale on the PSN Store, or Bonus Content for pre-ordering something)
If this is legit, can somebody who knows add this into Trivia or his Attire section?
Shai -- "Sipping Arizona Iced Tea, reading a Wikia..." 09:38, March 31, 2011 (UTC)

300 yen on the Japanese PSN, so roughly $5 on the NA PSN when it's released. -Der Eins-Geflügeltes Engel 21:38, April 6, 2011 (UTC)

FMV Appearances[edit source]

Let me just ask, does Seph' had a CGI model revamp on the second game? Look at these pictures:

The appearance on the Dissidia FMV

The revamped version in the second game

To summarize, here are the differences from the first, to the second;

  • He might have a new shoulder vest
  • Face appearance is changed
  • Hair color seems to be redone
  • Cloth is added with more details

--KevzMarz 06:02, November 19, 2011 (UTC)

That picture on the left, he doesn't have a new shoulder pad. That's Tifa's foot. --Sencilia 12:35, November 18, 2011 (UTC)
They could've made some minor changes but I don't see any in those pictures. And yes, that is her foot. Tifa has a plate on the foot she kicks with that wasn't on her character model in VII. AmbieSushi 13:28, November 18, 2011 (UTC)
The problem was that his FMV fight scene with Squall was blurry and obscure, it's hard to see the details.

Allusions[edit source]

  1. Does Schintilla resemble the Animax cover of Advent Children wherein Sephiroth's and Cloud's arms are digitized like a virtual hexagon?
  2. Correction, Seph's iconic slash with Squall in the FMV is identical to his battle with Zack, it is also seen in Destiny Odyssey 7! Won't someone update that image?
