References

Should it be noted that the Saronians were referenced in FFT (even though it might have been referencing the Cetra since it was in the Materia sections)?

Etymology

There is a Saronic Gulf, part of the Aegean Sea, off the coast of Greece. The area around the gulf is sometimes referred to as Saronia, as in the historical novel Saronia: A Romance of Ancient Ephesus by Richard Short.

There was also a festival of Artemis Saronia (quote from Wikipedia follows): "a festival to celebrate Artemis in Trozeinos, a town in Argolis. A king named Saron built a sanctuary for the goddess after the goddess saved his life when he went hunting and was swept away by a wave. He held a festival in her honor."

Unused info/Dargoon backstory?

Me again, back at it. Saronia has a lot of unused text, most of which pertaining to a dropped plot point about Arc splitting from the party. However, I'll discuss this later. Instead, I'd like to draw attention to a series of dialogues for Southwestern Saronia, where Alus explains why Dragoons are revered in Saronia and why the armor is in the Dragon Spire. It also acts as a hint for Garuda. https://tcrf.net/Final_Fantasy_III_(Nintendo_DS)/Unused_Text/Towns#Southwestern_Saronia_.28t20_01.29

Feel free to fact-check it, if need be.--ExitDoor 62 (talk) 18:21, December 9, 2018 (UTC)
