Gilgamesh: Enough expository banter!
This talk page is used for discussing improvements to the page "Red XIII's species". It is not the place for general discussion or sharing stories about the topic of this article.

I hate hate HATE pagenames like this. Referring to something belonging to the character, especially things like race which Red XIII has no possession of.

On another note, I hope they go into what happens in those 500 years.  ILHI 21:09, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Well, there are only two known members of this race... well three if you include Django, which is based off Nanaki's race. Still the race has no name, and the only thing associated with it is "Wolf".
Edit: Okay, Deneh makes four. And I suppose the cubs make six. I'm not counting his mother though.  ILHI 21:30, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

No, because Nomura is Japanese. Also SE gets a lot of emails. I don't think they're going to read some VII fanboy asking what their name is, and then come up with a permanent name for the race from now on. The race doesn't have a name now. One email isn't going to seal it in history. Also people will ask for a source, and although you have the email, this is an email only one person will have ever seen.  ILHI 12:03, December 24, 2009 (UTC)

Other appearances[]

Can someone write other appearances section plz, include Django from Ehrgeiz. Yes, Nanaki and Django are of the same race, Django's moveset references Seto and Nanaki throughout.  I Lion Heart I 21:25, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

That's not certain, and to say so would be utterly foolish. It is speculated that they are of the same race. TheAddictedOne 16:34, July 21, 2010 (UTC)
No, they are. Django's moveset is full of references to Seto and Nanaki. Furthermore, there is a striking resemblance. Furthermore, there are many other references to the FF series in his moveset.
They are. It's not canon to the VII universe, but it's clearly meant to be. 88.108.88.239 17:45, July 21, 2010 (UTC)

the moveset argument is rather meaningless. Many characters in many games have "movesets" to pay homage to the characters they are based off of, or to a favorite character of the creator, it does not mean they are related. "If two lions are similiar, are they of the same family?" it's not "clearly meant to be"

The moveset references FFVII the whole way through via summons, and then also to the two (at the time) named and known members of the race.
Secondly, we have the fact that Django's alternate outfit is red, like Red XIII. People could notice a similarity without any of the above.
You're right in one way: We probably can't say for sure that they are of the same species. But they've layered the character with so many references (and nothing else) that it would be wrong to omit it from the page. I'll edit the page if it says anything with a certainty. The Gi[]

Balthier-ffxii-render

Er... no. The last of his species fought against the Gi, as they were the protectors of Cosmo Canyon, and the Gi were invaders. Jimcloud 17:24, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

Deneh[]

Deneh is Red's "girlfriend" or something. I think the Ultimania says something. Esprit will know. JBed (talk) 19:44, April 19, 2013 (UTC)
