FFI, and perhaps a few other FF games, are the only FF games to use grids. I think the other games, at least later one, use more precise areas. 88.108.100.243 17:30, June 24, 2010 (UTC)

Anywayz, the image proof for this occurrence is here. If you think it's worth putting in the article, then do so. I did make a version featuring the entire world map, which would have probably being helpful, but I didn't save it. 88.108.100.243 17:30, June 24, 2010 (UTC)

Is this on any remakes? FF9 13:28, February 19, 2011 (UTC)

FF4[]

Apparently the same occurrence can happen in FFIV. I reverted the edit just because Peninsula of Power refers to the location in FF1, though I do agree the FF4 area where this happens needs a mention somewhere as well. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 21:45, February 8, 2012 (UTC)

In FFII when you first enter the World Map, if you head to the coast just south you will fight enemy's that were not meant to be fought there. I think we should upload images of the older game's World Maps and show the WM divisions for random encounters and then list them below. Places where tiles fit into the wrong intended RE set should be then mentioned in the Trivia of the page. JBed 21:55, February 8, 2012 (UTC)
Something that has more notability than the tileset layout of enemy encounters of the older games shouldn't be shoved into the trivia section, imho. I liken it to some of our overly-long strategies on our enemy pages. We could have them, but then again, we're not modeled to be a walkthrough. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 22:08, February 8, 2012 (UTC)

{{Nameless}}[]

Shouldn't this article get the {{Nameless}} template? Nintendo Power is not Square Enix-related publication, and the template only says about Square Enix so technically we should include it, unless it is indeed mentioned somewhere in the game.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 21:59, February 8, 2012 (UTC)

Technicalities aside, everyone knows it as the Peninsula of Power. What would you suggest we rename it to? - +DeadlySlashSword+ 22:03, February 8, 2012 (UTC)

I don't have a slightest idea for the new name. I think it should stay like it is now.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 22:11, February 8, 2012 (UTC)

There are 5 instances in which the "Peninsula of Power" bug appears in the FF series, and one of them does the exact opposite. The first was FFI where Nintendo coined "Peninsula of Power", but at that time there was only one FF game. This bug later appeared in FFII, FFIII, FFIV, and lastly FFVI. These are obviously bugs and/or lazy programing on the developers part. Since its pretty pointless to create five separate articles for each bug since they all do the same thing. It's better for them to be all on the same article. The bug is related to monster zoning. A term coined by the person who created the FFVI Multi Editor where one person can modify the Monsters and find the Zoning of the world map. Since there ain't any better names/terms for this bug as of yet, Monster Zoning Bug would be the better term unless someone comes up with something better. Fenrir9 03:40, February 9, 2012 (UTC)
I don't think that it's blatantly "obvious" that this was an oversight since the tilesets seem like a very difficult thing to mess up, much less on five separate occasions, so I wouldn't necessarily agree that these are bugs. Wouldn't you think after such a big deal was made over the PoP they would have made a more concerted effort to prevent it from happening again? That aside, I'm still of the mind of and content with keeping this page as is and giving just a mention to the other instances of this occurrence in the series. I wasn't happy when they changed the name of the Death Penalty glitch, either. (which imho everyone knew it by that name too instead of the overflow glitch). - +DeadlySlashSword+ 05:20, February 9, 2012 (UTC)
Unfortunately, this isn't about you or me, and our likes and dislikes. Aren't wikis suppose to provide the correct information? Isn't that the main point of a wiki, no? Heck yes this is quite an obvious oversight and pretty much a common mistake in the early FFs, this appears to have been change with advancement in technology, FFVII+. Do you actually believe that the makers of FF (any other game for that matter), would deliberately give you an easy access to gain levels faster (make the game really easy) than what was intended? As for it being a bug or not, its definitely is an error. This doesn't have anything to do with tilesets. Its about monster placement/monster zoning/monster grouping/whatever its actual term is (coding error) and has nothing to do with tilesets (graphics). Imho, all FF games that has this glitch/bug/error/whatever you want to call it should be on this page which includes FFI, FFII, FFIII, FFIV, and FFVI with an explanation on why its happening and a coverage on all these games which I am planning on doing. A new name would be needed as well to reflect the article, as to what to name it. People would have to read through the new article and choose/decide on an appropriate name for the article as a whole. Fenrir9 07:09, February 9, 2012 (UTC)

Sounds like a good idea to include the other games since it is a similar exploit. The little island in FFVII where you fight Mideel area monsters where you can get on Tiny Bronco would qualify too I presume. The name is a tricky thing though. It's most likely a programming oversight, but then what do you call that.Keltainentoukokuu 12:14, February 9, 2012 (UTC)

Isn't that in the Mideel Area? It's just on a different ground level?? Or are you talking about somewhere else? 79.69.201.133 12:37, February 9, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah on Mideel Area, but I don't think you're meant to be able to get to Mideel Area on Tiny Bronco, so it's probably a mistake?Keltainentoukokuu 12:55, February 9, 2012 (UTC)
It should DEFINITELY be mentioned on Mideel's page. How about renaming this hypothetical page to "List of Glitch Level grinding Locations]] or somethin', mention on Level grinding and List of bugs and glitches. Or something like that. C A T U S E 02:07, February 10, 2012 (UTC)
I didn't know there was one in FFVII, I'll let the entry blank for Keltainentoukokuu to fill it up. This is news to me, is it in a remote area by any chance? It feels too wordy Catuse167... and somewhat misleading? Well, for me anyways. It kind of says the levels are glitch in certain locations... Like they say, keep it short and sweet. These areas should also be mentioned in both articles you mentioned. From my understanding its neither a bug or a glitch (I looked up the online entries in the dictionary of both words), it leans more towards an error at best and doesn't seem to fit in either bug or glitch. I found this on the Final Fantasy article: "The world map seems to have been moved slightly, meaning that the placement of monster "areas" on the world map is slightly different, and that monsters appear in different places than in the Famicom version." Errors in Monster Areas on the World Map gird is pretty much what this hypothetical page will be describing. Anyways, I'll start with the article tomorrow and leave it at what its current title is, we'll all decide on it later once the article is finish. Fenrir9 02:44, February 10, 2012 (UTC)
I just remembered, your name suggestion will be incorrect because in FFVI. In the WoR, a peninsula on the first continent has Leafers and Dark Winds (WoB enemies - first enemies you encounter right outside of Narshe on the World Map). Fenrir9 02:59, February 10, 2012 (UTC)

Renaming Article[]

I'll like to thank NeoBahamut, because he said it best. I've used his explanation in the article. After a long time working on the article, it's finally complete as much that I know. The time as come to rename this article... but to what? What would best describe this in few words? Of course, if you have anything new to add within the article. Rephrase phrases, etc. By all means, go ahead. Please note that I have not played FFII at all and I didn't know FFVII had such an place. Those that are more informed on those two games, by all means expend them as I do not know much on them. Lack of information on my part. Fenrir9 03:16, February 21, 2012 (UTC)

Junon Path in Final Fantasy VII?[]

Can the Junon Path in Final Fantasy VII be considered a Peninsula of Power? By pulling the fire alarm you gain access to monsters from disc 3 in disc 1. But, this is no accident. This is built into the game, so it's not exactly a programming oversight. But on the other hand, it does allow the player access to late game monsters early game, and it can be used to quickly level up your characters.

I get what you mean, but the PoP was a programming error, whereas the path in Junon is deliberate. And please sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~) please. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 08:12, May 15, 2012 (UTC)
