Norg DisambiguationEdit

Norg has been mentioned in at least 2 different FF titles. I think I'm trying to forget FFVIII ever happened but is there any particular reason this guy's name is in capital letters. Theoretically Norg, the city, would be in lower case. Due to how PHP is working, this means that both pages could exist... though it would be rather sloppy. --TacticAngel 01:36, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

You could make your other (presumably FFXI) Norg article as normal and leave this alone. You could put a disclaimer that says, "For the Final Fantasy VIII character, please see NORG." at the top of the page. Crazyswordsman 15:17, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

"Master NORG" Edit

Shouldn't it be "Garden Master NORG"? Faethinverba volant 21:35, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Yeah I think it should be. Don't they call him as Garden Master before he's introduced and then NORG after the battle? Terra_Homing
I don't think so. It's not "General Beatrix of *" or anything like that. He is a "Master"; most of our pages don't say what they are the *title* of. This is slightly different, but I'm going to think of it as the same.  ILHI 21:43, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
You know perfectly well how much I care about how you think. "Garden Master" is a more specific term (i. e. different) than "Master" alone. If we have High Confessors then we must have Garden Masters. Faethinverba volant 23:47, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
Can't believe this went out of hand already with the squabbles over "titles". "Garden Master" this, "Master NORG" that.... seriously Diablo... why can't we just refer to their names only and omit the titles? —BLUER一番 01:59, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
I never said anything conclusive on the matter. One thing people want to know what to do with titles and suddenly the discussion is about Dissidia pages.
At most I said some pages would look silly without titles, like Judge Gabranth. This page is the complete opposite however. Diablocon 02:01, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
"Gabranth" isn't silly. It's fine, and even the fine print uses it. I don't think Marcel Funebris is silly without "High Confessor". Even "Beatrix" is fine to me, let alone "Ghis". Sounded...ok. Those are plausible names. —BLUER一番 02:04, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
I mean, before my move of Master NORG, I don't think anyone even knew this page existed.... —BLUER一番 02:06, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
The majority of pages don't use titles, so I'd say that's the way to go. After all, I think of this guy as NORG, not as Garden Master NORG. I say Beatrix, not General Beatrix.
I guess Judge Gabranth just stood out cause I think his names looks better with the Judge put on. But to be fair and to play devils advocate, Dissidia simply refers to him as Gabranth in the menues. Diablocon 02:09, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
What does that have to do with anything, that no one knew about the page?
But, now that I think about it, I do believe that disregarding titles would be the most consistent way of naming character pages. I think Bluer is right. Faethinverba volant 02:11, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Hmm... even I wonder, lol. Maybe it's the fact that changes are a headache, even upon articles I regard as lesser-known. —BLUER一番 02:17, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
I have to point one exception if this is the case. You surely can't remove the title of Emperor from Mateus. - Henryacores^ 02:27, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Could we base this reversion to the fact that NORG is addressed inconsistently in the game, one minute "Garden Master" then "Master NORG" in the next, then just "NORG" seconds later, and therefore was moved? BLUER一番 02:29, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
EDIT CONFLICT: Why be consistant at all? The names in this series are not. The Judges in the Archadian Judges are called by their titles very frequently, while Celes is only called "General Celes" like once. Whatever is the most recognizable to a player should be used. --BlueHighwind 02:30, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
'What's most recognisable to the player' is subjective, though. Terra_Homing
