Gilgamesh: Enough expository banter!
This talk page is used for discussing improvements to the page "Multiple endings". It is not the place for general discussion or sharing stories about the topic of this article.

Can't this just be done on a simple "Ending" page? (do we have one of them? if we don't, then that would be more important than only having one for games with multiple endings) 10:48, September 28, 2011 (UTC)

What would you put in your ending page? "This game also has an ending"?Keltainentoukokuu 16:39, September 28, 2011 (UTC)
An ending page could describe the game's ending. And then in games with multiple endings, describe how scenes are different/changes made to scenes/what scenes are added. I would suggest things you can do after the ending but that's already on the The End (term) article. 16:47, September 28, 2011 (UTC)
I dunno, I feel the storyline aspect of an ending is better on the story synopsis section in the game's page, because, hopefully, the story would build toward the ending from the beginning, so it's a bit difficult, I feel, to make a good ending summary without talking about everything that leads to why it ends like it does. And for a game like FFVI the characters' individual ending sequences are on their character pages. I made this page but specifically didn't want too much story in, but rather what are the requirements to get different endings. Now there's also the "Ending Theme" page and "The End (term)" pages, so those kinds of elements would also be consolidated into a full "Ending" page?Keltainentoukokuu 17:02, September 28, 2011 (UTC)
Actually, I think I agree with not adding too much plot. My initial view was that the game's article's story section was more likely about the actual storyline... but not the ending FMV. Although, now I look, VIII still includes mentions of the camera, and VII still mentions of Aeris at the end.
If we were to describe the ending, it would simply have to describe what happens in each scene.
It would also be nice to have an article that says "plays after defeating the final boss". "After the ending is typically a "The End" screen" and "before voice acting, games relied on music and therefore game's had an ending theme spanning most of the ending". Something that ties aspects of the ending together. 17:37, September 28, 2011 (UTC)

Type-0 "Rise from the Ashes"[edit source]

How exactly to see this scene? the article doesn't say anything about how to get it. Monterossa (talk) 04:00, April 3, 2015 (UTC)

FFXV extended ending[edit source]

Not entirely certain if it counts enough for this article (also not sure if it was something changed with an update or not) but the first time through, the screen turns black upon Noct's line "What can I say? You guys are the best." Subsequent playthroughs after beating the final boss will have the camera focus on his face for the first sentence and black out after "You guys". Does this count as an alternate ending? QHRvRICdalurIA (talk) 19:01, April 22, 2017 (UTC)

It would be worth a mention I think. You wouldn't happen to have a YouTube comparison or something? Basically it just cuts to black slightly later? I seem to remember always getting the second version of your description.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 20:31, April 22, 2017 (UTC)
Sure. First playthrough:

Second and on:

Those should link to the exact moments where it differs. Now, I don't know if it's something that changes based on if you've completed the game before or if it was something one of the free updates changed, but you can see it's changed nonetheless. Might also be worth mentioning that the player chooses the picture that Noct shows to Luna in their afterlife wedding. Otherwise, that's about all that can change in FFXV's ending I know of. Hmm that's certainly different. I seem to remember to have got the latter and I've played it once. That the photo in the ending is the one the player chooses should be mentioned too, good call!Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 18:33, April 25, 2017 (UTC)

Luna crying in the ending (FFXV)[edit source]

This part is not true, I tried the wedding dress or any Altissia photo and she doesn't have any tear.

That's interesting. In the YouTube video of it I've seen she has an Altissia photo, but maybe it has nothing to do with what photo you give her then. Would be interesting to know what triggers it.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 13:58, October 15, 2017 (UTC)
