Meteor/Meteorfall[]

I was about to suggest a separation for VII's plot element Meteor, when I found out there's an article dedicated to a certain Meteorfall event - is this the in-game name or fan coined term? - so, I suggest the content on VII's Meteor is cut short to summary, and all the plot details brought over to the other article. Also, if Meteorfall is indeed a fan coined term, to rename it to Meteor (Final Fantasy VII). Bluer 22:13, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure, but it sounds legit to me. I can't recall any lines talking of "Meteorfall", but I know I've heard that somewhere. --BlueHighwind 22:14, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
If the name is a problem, we can move the page to "The Chosen Day", that is canon for sure. Drake Clawfang
If any move is made, it would be to "Meteor (Final Fantasy VII)". Both those names are just events involved with Meteor, but Meteor covers everything. --BlueHighwind 22:18, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

One more problem is the game navitemplates. This article is dedicated to being about the spell. Else, I suggest a separate article with links using the Main template on this article, and there the game navitemplates should be. Bluer 22:19, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

That was why I removed the VII template, but BlueHighwind moved it back....anyway, yeah I'd say we could merge the VII info here and Meteorfall into a single "Meteor (Final Fantasy VII)" article. Drake Clawfang

VIII[]

Isn't it possible to be more powerful than ultima in VIII? (9999 v.s 1000+ X10) If so should I put it in?1stclasswarrior 19:11, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Meteor in Ehrgeiz[]

Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth all have Meteor-like attacks (Meteorain and Black Materia). I was going to add them, but I figured some douche other user might delete it for some dumb reason, so I'm asking for permission first. Dachimotsu7734 03:29, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Mention it on appropriate pages. Meteorain directs you to Cloud's article. And the Black Materia has nothing to do with Sephiroth's version. If he held the Black Materia when using it like he does in Ehrgeiz, then yeah, but he doesn't.  ILHI 12:51, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Starfall =/= Meteor[]

Starfall is not Meteor in Japan. The kanji for Meteor is "メテオ", while the kanji for Starfall is "いんせき". That Starfall is a mistranslation is false, as in Dissidia, a game that uses the fixed translations for attacks over the original translations (Binding Cold, Forsaken, etc), the kanji for Starfall is still "いんせき". Starfall is not a mistranslation of Meteor, it is similar, but not the same. Drake Clawfang 19:12, September 27, 2009 (UTC)

"Inseki" (隕石) literally means "Meteor[ite]" in Japanese, that's probably where the confusion comes from. "メテオ" is a direct loan word from English. So Starfall is Meteor in Japan, just not that Meteor. — YuanSalve!Acta 06:57, September 28, 2009 (UTC)
Interesting. I guess that explains why the spells are so similar but have different names. Drake Clawfang 07:01, September 28, 2009 (UTC)

Final Fantasy XIII[]

Shouldn't we make a Final Fantasy XIII subcategory? After all, the scene of Cocoon falling into Gran Pulse resembles somehow Final Fantasy VII's scene of Meteor falling onto Planet (directly Midgar if I'm not mistaken, never liked the game - 7th that is).—Kaimi (Talk Page) 18:58, October 14, 2010 (UTC)

It's not the same thing. In FF7 it is actually referred to as Meteor, whereas there is nothing Meteor-like about Cocoon. Cocoon is more like a moon.Keltainentoukokuu 00:13, October 15, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu

Final Fantasy X Description[]

It isn't unusable in any form by the party.

This is written under the Final Fantasy X segment of the article; I would assume the double negative is a mistake but I haven't actually played the game so I wouldn't know. Toothless100 - Talk to me 19:01, April 12, 2013 (UTC)

Meteor or moon[]

I was confused about where Meteor was a plot device in FFXIV, because I couldn't remember it. I asked a friend whether it was in 1.0 and they said no and that the page was probably referring to Dalamud. But insomuch as Cocoon doesn't qualify, wouldn't Dalamud be disqualified for the same reasons? 98.189.220.26 03:39, September 19, 2014 (UTC)

The process of calling down Dalamud was specifically referred to in game as Meteor. The term never comes up in any of the XIII games, so Cocoon's not included here. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 04:12, September 19, 2014 (UTC)

Split[]

Starfall and Comet (ability) abilities exist. I'm not really sure what you are asking for. What should be moved?Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 21:08, March 28, 2015 (UTC)
