Gilgamesh: Enough expository banter!
This talk page is used for discussing improvements to the page "Lindwyrm". It is not the place for general discussion or sharing stories about the topic of this article.

Thanks for this article; I had a hell of a time trying to find the Lindwyrm until I read this.

You're welcome! That's what we're here for, you know? Bluerダヨ 12:15, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Nou mou account[]

According to that nou mou in the Clan Hall, doesn't the Lindwyrm only appear when it's raining?

Lindwyrm not in Garden of Life's Circle[]

I searched all over that place, and it wasn't there.

Enter the Tchita Uplands from the Cerobi Steppe. Enter and re-enter until it starts raining or gets very overcast with storm clouds in the Tchita Uplands, then proceed straight to the Garden of Life's Circle, which will be overcast, and the only enemy there shall be the Lindwyrm.-- 06:12, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Connection with Lindblum?[]

Lindwyrm, World-Destroyer, Dragon of Ruin... thus was this fell Creature called in a kingdom now lost in Antiquity.

Bestiary Entry

The English entry doesn't name this kingdom, but the German version of the game says that it's Lindblum. Does anyone know what the Japanese version says about it? --Ich will Kühe. Flüstergras 15:40, September 15, 2013 (UTC)

Interesting...our resident translator is Mecorx; if you have a screenshot or two I'm sure she wouldn't mind having a look for you. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle.png 16:52, September 15, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, I'm trying to get a screenshot - currently, I don't have any. --Ich will Kühe. Flüstergras 17:24, September 15, 2013 (UTC)
Great, it'll be interesting to see if there is anything that might have been lost in English translation. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle.png 17:31, September 15, 2013 (UTC)
I don't have the exact text, but a little googling of Japanese sites tells me the country is named in the Japanese version of that quote, and that the Japanese are as intrigued as we are over the similarities between Lindwyrm and Lindblum (edit: I see the text is on Mercorx's talk page, and it does confirm the spelling of the country as Lindwyrm, not Lindblum). However, the name of the country is just the exact name of the dragon - Lindwyrm, which is an actual mythological creature that doesn't necessarily need FF9's Lindblum to give it meaning. Also, Lindwurm is an enemy in FFXI, which FFXII took many enemy names and types from. The thing is, in Japanese, Lindwyrm is virtually identical to Lindblum, ("rindovurumu" versus "rindoburumu", where the "bu" and "vu" sounds are almost the same in Japanese, and used interchangeably in many instances).
The similarities to Lindblum, and the fact that they actually call the country destroyed by the dragon "Lindwyrm" in the Japanese version, are a striking enough coinicidence that I would say it is certainly possible there is an intended reference, or at least play on words, involved. Heck, Lindblum might have been a messed up version of Lindwyrm to begin with. In the end, it's too ambiguous for me to say with any certainty whether it's intentional or not, but is coincidental enough to raise an eyebrow over for sure. Whether it is wiki-worthy or not, I don't know. Espritduo (talk) 19:07, September 15, 2013 (UTC)

its true you have to exit Tchita uplands by way of phon coast then keep reentering until its cloudy then you make your way to the nameless spring save point and save your game then you can enter Garden of lifes circle and keep entering and exiting until the rain has stopped then You Will find the Lindwyrm you just gotta keep exploring the area but it is true it is found in the Garden of Lifes circle

Edit needed[]

Can someone add to the info on making the mark spawn in zodiac editions no longer requiring to leave the area entirely (and go to Phon Coast as the example states). You can just leave the Garden of Life's Circle and reenter until the weather changes and the mark spawns no problem, just tested it.

(I'd do it but the editor won't load for some reason...)

Oh this is useful to know. FFWiki only uses the source editor, so you may have to click the arrow next to edit and use "Edit source". Default editor can be changed from options.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 16:48, February 23, 2018 (UTC)
This needs deletion, it's false (over 100 entries, weather never changed).2600:1700:C8C1:2F0:C0A3:21F3:1C3:80EE 19:16, March 11, 2018 (UTC)
All walkthrough videos leave the area entirely before the weather changed. As far as I can see (and in my play), you MUST leave the the area entirely. StarlightLumi (talk) 12:53, April 5, 2018 (UTC)
