Guard Defense Stat[]
How does Guard Defense stat contribute to defensive abilities actually?—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 00:34, November 1, 2014 (UTC)
- Guard Defense
- Guard Defense is the defense modifier mechanic used while actively guarding. It represents a flat reduction of incoming damage. A shield with 100 Guard Defense nullifies the first 100 points of incoming damage (after applying the % damage reduction from the Guard Ability being used). Guard Defense is most effective versus weaker enemies.
- Guard Efficiency
- Guard Efficiency is a bit more complicated and confusing, as there are 2 types:
- (Numerical Value)% - increases damage resistance by a given percent.
- +(Numerical Value) - increases Guard Defense. (Approx.): +1 Guard Efficiency = 4.5 Guard Defense.
- Guard Efficiency shines against larger enemies.
- Perfect Guard
- (a.k.a. Just Guard, Perfect Block, Perfect Shield, Stagger Block). Perfect Timing using Guard Abilities drastically reduces damage taken and can Stagger many foes. The hexegonal barrier animation which appears immediately after executing a Guard Ability is directly related to Perfect Guarding. In other words, you will trigger a Perfect Guard whenever an enemy hits you at the same moment this barrier appears. Note that Perfect Guard does not guarantee full reduction of damage.

Tomb Raider Riot Shield[]
BlueHighwind Q? 02:45, November 1, 2014 (UTC) TALK - So if you care to find me, look to the Western Sky!ツ:
The Riot Shield in Tomb Raider can never be used by Laura Croft during game. It's actually used by several enemies, most notably a boss. So that "Adventurer" they're referring to is actually a maniac cultist (and this being the Tomb Raider reboot, maybe even a rapist too). Should we mention that?

Deirdre's Tears and the next two shields don't have the info "from day 6". It looks as if you could buy them from the beginning. Just sayin. Greetings!
