Remake info[edit source]

Should we add information on remake levels as some remakes might allow characters to go to higher levels than the original.

I think yes. If you know which games this applies to, could you add it?Keltainentoukokuu 19:06, February 25, 2011 (UTC)

Final Fantasy VIII[edit source]

Does anybody know how FFVIII calculates the enemies' levels prior to battle? -- EGingell Talk,WoW Pedia 08:01, May 25, 2011 (UTC)

I believe they're the same of yours, just capped at certain levels. E.g. an enemy has a level 40 cap. Your level = 5, its level = 5. Your level =39, its level=39. Your level 50, its level=40. May be wrong, but that's the impression I've always had. Likeacupcake 08:03, May 25, 2011 (UTC)
That seems logical, but I'm curious what would happen if I took my high level Squall (96) with two of my neglected low levels (13, 13, and 15) into the Deep Sea Research Center to fight Bahamut if the enemies there (including the two Ruby Dragons) would be level 96 or an average or what. I suppose I could try and see... Sadly, I'm too high level to fight the Ruby Dragons (the second one ignores Alert and uses its Breath which does over 9999 damage). If I can't cheat this way, then I'll have to *gulp* farm The Island Closest to Hell for Ultima. -- EGingell Talk,WoW Pedia 08:13, May 25, 2011 (UTC)
IIRC, FFVIII's levels are based on your leader's levels, so regardless of your other party members, it's based more around Squall's levels. So you could potentially keep him dead the entire game at level 7, and have the others at level 100 and still fight level 7 enemies or such IIRC. Xenomic 08:18, May 25, 2011 (UTC)

I'm going to try it and see. What's the worst that will happen? I die... again? -- EGingell Talk,WoW Pedia 08:21, May 25, 2011 (UTC)

It's definitely not based on Squall's level. I scanned a Bomb and it's level 44. The Anacondaur, however, is level 60. Either way, they're not level 96. Also, Oden spawned in three consecutive battles. lol -- EGingell Talk,WoW Pedia 08:34, May 25, 2011 (UTC)'s also based on locations too, since some enemies in some locations don't go above a certain level as stated earlier. I don't know, the game's level system is funky like that. Xenomic 08:37, May 25, 2011 (UTC)
My devious plan worked. He he he... -- EGingell Talk,WoW Pedia 08:46, May 25, 2011 (UTC)

I did some searching for my own benefit, and came across the following formula (excepting fixed levels and boss level caps):

Baselevel = floor[mean of active party members' levels] (having fewer than three members
Leveldiff = floor[baselevel / 5] in the party *does* affect this)
Enemylevl = EITHER Baselevel + Leveldiff OR Baselevel - Leveldiff (not any level in between!)

I haven't had much chance to test it yet, though -- Sorceror Nobody Flan.PNG 22:37, September 10, 2011 (UTC)

X-2 Leveling[edit source]

I've played X-2 several times, and I've noticed that Paine levels up faster than the others. Then Rikku, then Yuna. Yuna is usually a level behind anyway because of the opening. Should be include this? AmbieSushi To think that mother would prefer Sephiroth over... 22:50, September 10, 2011 (UTC)
