Honestly, I debated removing this section in its entirety. It seems to me like the "debate" only exists in the minds of certain fans. The one reason I didn't is because the omission of it in the Ultimanias is at least a hard reason for raising the possibility.}}

Previous versions of this page have titled it as "Hoshi '''wo''' Meguru Otome", while this currently uses '''o''' instead of '''wo'''. Why did it change? What is more correct?

On contradictions between Maiden and compilation

The contradictions are, simply, as follows

1- Time of Hojo's death. Maiden says before Sephiroth, DoC says he lingered on until after Meteorfall.

2- Method and control of lifestream. Maiden says leads the souls, and all the lifestream is used, other sources including the UO, say she did it alone, controlled the lifestream, and a portion of it.

3- Age meeting Zack. Maiden says 'When she was seventeen, it was what attracted her to him.', CC says 15, and makes a point that she's attracted to his eyes.

There are a few other questionable bits, but those are the most salient ones people have had issue with. The bigger thing is the complete lack of any mention in ANY subsequent source when even Last Order is considered worth mentioning.Ryushikaze 17:21, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

1 - No, Hojo always died, that Hojo seen in DoC is just a illusion.
2 - Minor discrepency, happens all over the Compilation.
3 - The ages of the characters at the various times have always been changed. Since CC takes place 5 years before FF7, Aerith would be 17 during its timeframe.

As well, it's focusing on the dead characters. How are the other characters in later titles supposed to reference this? Drake Clawfang 18:18, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

1- No, not the Hojo in the main game, the Hojo in the prologue- there were still life signs there come meteorfall, then he died after uploading his mind into the net.
2- The details of how and why the lifestream moves don't quite seem 'minor', but oh well.
3- The ages have not been changed like you claim, and Crisis Core depicts Aerith as meeting and being attracted to Zack starting at the age of 15, not 17.

And yes, it's focusing on the dead characters, but one might expect the novella's events to be mentioned in the profiles of the characters in their Ultimania profiles and such. Even a side note that they were watching during certain events like Zack got mention of in the U10 regarding AC. But no, nada. Ryushikaze 16:25, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

1- Actually, in the prologue, the life signs that were in the building were of Rufus Shinra. Vincent staring at Hojo's corpse was plot-related.

Was /Was not supervised

While the greater Ultimania Omega was supervised by Square-Enix, Benny Matsuyama stated on his own website about Maiden that he was simply told to write a novella and not given any other instructions or guidelines. I'll leave it for now til I can provide the source.Ryushikaze 17:50, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Every source I've seen mentioning the novella says it was written under the supervision of SE. Drake Clawfang 18:16, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
I've seen a couple of those, but they all seemed to be third party sources. Benny himself, on his own website would be much more authoritative, I'd think. Ryushikaze 16:27, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
