Gilgamesh: Enough expository banter!

Gray Bomb, Grey Coeurl? I'm confused.  ILHI 16:17, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Should be Gray Coeurl. Holy Dragoon 16:19, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
May I butt in and ask if this particular fiend could be spelt both ways depending on the localisation? Jeppo (Talk) 16:30, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
Yes, it could be. But this is what the title should be. If I were 8bit, I wouldn't have suppressed the redirect but I don't care as long as it uses the US localisation.  ILHI 16:35, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
@Jeppo: You cans, if every page with gray in its name is treated as such. Is "Grey" used in England or something? 8bit 16:38, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
It's not different in all cases. But yes, grey is the UK Eng version.  ILHI 16:40, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
A few examples: Grey Molter/Grey Moulter and Mom Bomb/Mum Bomb. Jeppo (Talk) 16:46, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
In FFIV, it's always Mom Bomb. Unless Advance and DS says differently of course. We use the US name as seen with Gilgamesh. Which kinda ignores our rule of "Latest version wins because it's the most correct". But we always use US names to ignore such battles.  ILHI 16:48, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
Aye, but in later games, Square started to use both spellings for each localisation. I don't know when The After Years was released, but if it was after FFVIII, there is a very distinct possibility that both spellings could be used. I'm not disputing the fact that the page is moved, I'm only asking if Grey Coeurl should be a redirect. Jeppo (Talk) 16:53, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

  • Butts in*... There is only one "Grey" enemy, that being from FFXII, the rest are "Gray" variations. This could be a mistranslation, are you sure this is how its presented in the PAL version? The Pal version usually corrects any mistakes from the International.

Conflicting information[]

Heavily conflicting information since the PSP version says it is immune to everything while the Wii version only makes it immune to death. We have reliable sources for the former, and not for the latter, so I would go with making the former the default, also, iOS is based on the PSP version so that's 2 versions vs 1.--Magicite-ffvi-ios Technobliterator TC 22:15, October 14, 2014 (UTC)
