I would really recommend replacing all the "s/he" with "they", it would make this article much easier to read through.[[Special:Contributions/70.110.16.164|70.110.16.164]] 05:25, July 23, 2013 (UTC)

Revision as of 05:25, 23 July 2013

"There are some who think that many of these quotes were altered by fans of the game, however, and use this speculation to debunk this theory. That, however, did not stop the theory from making headlines of major news outlets." <-- From the article

I am wondering if this can be backed up? I did a quick google search but didn't find any articles from any news outlets mentioning the Gogo/Adlai rumor. If it can't really be backed up I would suggest that last sentence be removed until proven otherwise.

And it there are article from any news outlets relating to the Gogo/Adlai rumor, perhaps a link would be in order? That's just my two cents anyways.

I would agree. The only difficulty I would see in doing this is that FFVI came out before the internet revolution so it may be difficult finding any articles from that time without actually searching (scanning or copying, and then posting) physical archives. That said, I'll see if I can't waste a little time with documentation. --TacticAngel 00:38, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
This theory first surfaced on the internet in 2000, not when FF6 was released in 1992. I was never able to find any news articles about it. That doesn't prove they don't exist but... it seems less likely is what I'm saying. --Flameman 13:37, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Is there another Gogo?

If there isn't, I suggest this be moved to simply "Gogo". --Hecko X 23:07, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

I think s/he's the only Gogo. --Lycentia 23:13, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Gogo is in V as well. Although really, both can fit in one article. koku 02:57, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, Gogo was the "Master Mimic" that you had to fight (or rather, not fight) against to get the mimic job in FFV. I agree with Kokushishin that it would fit nicely in one article since there's not much to say on them.

Gogo-Training

I would like to train Gogo but now ('it' has already some levels more than at the beginning) its stats are still on par with the starting stats. Will they increase by training at all, without any Esper?

Without an Esper, a character's stats can still rise, although not as fast. Espers don't allow growth, they speed it up. Because s/he cannot equip Espers, a maxed level Gogo is likely to be much weaker than other characters of equal level. This is why I never bothered training Gogo and stuck to the main twelve characters (also excluding Umaro, considering his uncontrollable nature). However, if you are still bent on training Gogo, I would consider a Growth Egg. Schiffy 22:13, June 20, 2012 (UTC)

Character stats do not rise at all without Esper bonuses. What a character starts with at level 1, they will end with at level 99 without any Esper bonuses. This does not mean characters do not get stronger as they level, though. In FFVI, Level has a HUGE part to play in all damage calculations, and in the end will account for more of a person's offensive power than any increase in stats through Espers or equipment. So no worries about Gogo or Umaro, they may not be quite as powerful as Esper-boosted characters, but they will still be plenty strong. Espritduo 23:38, June 20, 2012 (UTC)

My bad, I was mistaken about stat growth. Yet another reason why I stuck to the main 12.69.206.129.130 14:07, June 21, 2012 (UTC)

speculation

i always thought gogo was Relms mother as s/he has a similar colour shceme and can equip similar wepeons to Strago and Relm. S/he also has similarities to Shadow (having his/her face coverd up and mimicing Shadow in the falcon) however these also back up the Baram theory. Myself 123 17:23, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

What I believe is that Gogo has no identity. S/he has no gender, can use any skill, etc etc. Gogo is basically the character that player has complete control over. S/he is basically a character that the player can customize to suit their own tastes. --
In that case, the two secret characters in the game are opposites, as you have very little control over umaro. Myself 123 19:29, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
