If "lottery system" isn't the official term for this system, why don't just call it "gacha"? This term is being used in FFBE global, and probably in some other games. Monterossa (talk) 18:08, April 29, 2018 (UTC)
- In hindsight, it was one of those things that had to be done, but I didn't know how to make the concept of gacha relatable at the time. The closest thing I could think of was a lottery. We would also need to add an etymology page explaining the concept; it comes from a Japanese word meaning "capsule toys". But when I think of such, all I can think of are those darned plastic eggs that you never know what you're going to get. Swordzmanp236 (talk) 18:48, April 29, 2018 (UTC)
- It's called gacha in Wikipedia too. I think it could be considered a loanword at this point rather than just a foreign word.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 19:03, April 29, 2018 (UTC)
- Working on it. We need to kill the redirector before I can use the name again. Swordzmanp236 (talk) 21:38, April 29, 2018 (UTC)
- I killed the redirected page. You can move it now. Monterossa (talk) 21:44, April 29, 2018 (UTC)

Gacha as gambling[]
Originally, I had that bit put in based on some of the info culled from WP. What I'm looking for there are countries and states that absolutely do regulate this kind of gaming. Somewhere in the US, there was talk of throwing the hammer down on a wider scale after the CoD/Battlefield One loot-box scandal.
That said, let me give a personal account here. FFBE re-upped the collab with King's Knight (why would they try to drum up interest in a game they will wipe this weekend?), and so I had a pack of summon tix stacked up (50+). As a player of the latter game, I wanted to make sure I got all four heroes before I couldn't. Landed Toby at least 5 times, Kaliva twice, Ray Jack with 20 left, and Barusa with about 13 left. What a pain! Swordzmanp236 (talk) 00:20, June 22, 2018 (UTC)
- China has something, no idea how relevant this is to FF. Cat (meow ∙ hunt) 00:22, June 22, 2018 (UTC)
- If there is government regulation in countries where the games are available, then that is worth mentioning in the article. However, Monterossa is correct that it's not the wiki's job to include warnings in articles, as that borders on conjecture.--

- Looks like two of three Benelux countries smack gacha pretty hard as well. Here's one. The same site will reveal the other. Swordzmanp236 (talk) 00:50, June 22, 2018 (UTC)
