similar to golbez[edit source]

Has anyone else noticed the similarities, both in looks and in role in the story, between Gabranth and Golbez? --Crazyswordsman 06:37, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

I see where you're coming from, interesting comparison. Diablocon 12:17, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
That's kinda freaky, in a nostalgic kind of way... --Hecko X 13:04, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
Personally, I think his appearance seems much closer to Garland 07:39, September 14, 2017 (UTC)

So Square-enix says he's got a sword called Highway Star: I didn't know he liked Deep Purple! Nagyss 06:34, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Uhuh. Highway Star's JG weapon on the left hand (the shorter one), and the longer one's the Chaos Blade. (Highway Star. XDD) DVardonir 09:51, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Confirmed for Dissidia[edit source]

Has this crossed anyones mind, or am i the only one whos thought of this?

Has anyone considerd the fact that the Judge in Dissidia might be Bach insted of his brother Noah? Dissidia is suposed to star the main heros of each game. Shantotto being the acception. Has anyone here rememberd the fact that Bach takes his brothers armor in the end of the game, as his brother Noah asks him to take care of Larsa Solidor.

Also, Bach was intended to be the games main character untill Vaan and Penelo were added.

Couldent it be posssable the Judge in Dissidia, MIGHT be Bach in the Judge armor as seen in the end of the game and in Revanant Wings. as a Tribute to the fact Bach was origonaly intended to be FF12's Main?

OR am i searously the ONLY person to have this thought cross my mind?

You're not the first. Diablocon 21:11, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure you are. For you see, the rest of us know that Bach was a famous German composer who will not be appearing in Dissidia in any way, shape, or form. - DeadlySlashSword 21:13, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Gabranth Side[edit source]

Chaos Side

Info Box Pic[edit source]

In Gabranth's info box shouldn't his XII appearance go inside there instead of his Dissidia pic?--Ratatosk/Zolo 21:09, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

He's only playable in Dissidia. The infobox is for his playable incarnation. --BlueHighwind 21:28, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
Shouldn't the Dissida box be at the bottom since it's a totally separate appearance? Nomura stated that canon wise, Dissidia is a "What If?" story. - AndresTiger
Infoboxes go at the top right. They always go there. --BlueHighwind 21:37, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
I say put his old pic back, it's prettier and he comes from FFXII, not Dissidia. His Dissidia pic should come at the Dissidia part. Keep the infobox, but do put his FFXII info as well. Leon5550

"Younger twin"[edit source]

It says in the trivia section that he is the younger twin. I know where it says this, because I myself play Dissidia a lot. But what I don't understand is how you can have an older twin. Aren't twins supposed to be born on the same day? If Basch is indeed older, then shouldn't they just be "brothers"? PX173 13:00, April 14, 2010 (UTC)

Born on the same day, but not at the same time. I never thought I'd have to tell someone this, but twins aren't born at exactly the same time. That would kill the mother. 14:29, April 14, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I know, that's why I said "day", and not "time". Still, when we determine who of two people is older, we rarely take the seconds, minutes, or hours into account, do we? It's just a little confusing to some people and they might say "Oh, Gabranth is the younger brother." Then they might be interested in buying FFXII after hearing from it in Dissidia, like how I got FFVIII after researching a bit on Squall, and learned to like the game. But eventually, they might say "Wait, what? They're twins?! I though Gabranth was younger!" PX173 00:40, April 15, 2010 (UTC)

Would it be relevant to correct and point out that in the Japanese version, it is made quite clear that Gabranth is the younger twin? In the Japanese version they used futago no ototo when referring to Gabranth, or by Vayne, simply ototo, ototo specifically meaning younger brother. Anzu Mazaki 23:35, August 13, 2010 (UTC)

What's the context for both lines? Doreiku Kuroofangu 23:37, August 13, 2010 (UTC)

Well, one was in the Barheim Passage when Basch has his flashback about what happened the night the king was killed, and afterwards Balthier says, "Futago no ototo? Dekisugi da. (A twin younger brother? That's too good to be true.)" The English was simply, "A twin brother? Fancy that." Vayne mentions it right after the gang is captured and being taken to the Leviathan. He is talking with Gabranth in the palace and he says Ondore wrote him a letter saying he's caught Basch. Gabranth responds something like, "I will be the one to kill him," after which Vayne says, "Miageta ototo da (something like 'What an admiring younger brother')," in English he says "Your fraternity is moving."Anzu Mazaki 00:04, August 14, 2010 (UTC)

The use of "弟" makes it obvious, yeah? BLUER一番 00:07, August 14, 2010 (UTC)
Ah, okay. Yeah, that would make it something lost in translation. Thanks for bringing that to our attention. Doreiku Kuroofangu 00:10, August 14, 2010 (UTC)

Guest Character[edit source]

This thought just crossed my Mind, and am surprised no one else has been brought attention to this.

Gabranth is a guest party member in the second fight agents Vayne, shouldn't he have the FF XII Info box around his character, like Reks, Larsa, Vossler and Reddas?

I mean if it was only for the second fight agents Vayne, it still counts right?
Ixbran 20:37, May 30, 2011 (UTC)

Gabranth counts more as an NPC, like those people who join you on some of the marks, but are not really "guests"; once they die you can't revive them and you can't see them on your status screen or menu (so they're not actually party members).Keltainentoukokuu 23:44, May 30, 2011 (UTC)
But he actually joins you in battle. you see his HP Bar, MP, and everything, like all the other guest characters.
Ixbran 02:16, May 31, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, Vossler and Larsa, etc, actually appear in the list of party members at the bottom of the screen. Gabranth does not, he's an Ally, like the random NPCs you occasionally see in the field. Doreiku Kuroofangu 02:17, May 31, 2011 (UTC)

Death[edit source]

I'm sorry, but how the hell did he die? Considering everything else that happens, he dies of well... nothing. -- 22:17, April 27, 2013 (UTC)
