They're probably going to take it down very soon. --Crazyswordsman 19:29, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
That doesn't matter, I don't know how many other submissions there have been of it anyway :P --Auron Kaizer 20:01, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

merging

Why do you want this to stand alone? It's clearly in reference to Final Fantasy (Series) and it would be sensical for it to be part of that article. --Hecko X 19:16, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Because it's eventually going to get too big to fit in the main article. In fact, now that I have access to some new data, I'm going to give a lot of the Airships their own articles soon. Give me some time, Hecko. --Crazyswordsman 19:17, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

"This shows a lack of research by the show's production staff"?

IMO this comment is too subjective. Possibly the production staff thought the music in FF10 isn't vgmusic-esque enough in their POV so ended up using the music from older installment which used FM synth. -- 222.166.160.106 13:41, January 29, 2010 (UTC)

The Simpson & Family Gy reference Family Guy

In the Simpsons game, one of the Comic Book Guys said "...Yes that was a quote, from Final Fantasy nine!" In Family Guy, Peter says "I am am a paladin with 18 teresma and 97 hit point. i can use my Helm of Desintagration to do 1 D4 damage while iHalfelfmage weilds his plus five holy avenger." Then Louis says "Peter, the Palidin can't use the Helm of Desintagration!" Then Peter says " Oh, then I'm a black guy!"Wikiguy 10:14, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

That doesn't sound so much "in popular culture" if his projects are all Final Fantasy based. People who haven't played the games probably wouldn't watch his reviews.Keltainentoukokuu 03:47, August 23, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu

Another Robot Chicken

I was watching an episode of Robot Chicken called "We Are A Humble Factory" and during one of the parts, a nerd gets a woman's body and is seen at what appears to be a strip club. After showing off 2 different outfits (from other video games/anime), he is shown wearing Tifa's FFVII outfit and exclaims: "This may be your Final Fantasy" while posing. Should it be mentioned in the article? --Sencilia 14:13, October 13, 2010 (UTC)

Notable? It's Robot Chicken Check   Intentional reference? Pretty obviously Check   Go for it -- Sorceror Nobody Flan 14:54, October 13, 2010 (UTC)
Would you please be able to add it for me since I'm bad at editing? --Sencilia 09:12, October 14, 2010 (UTC)

The World Ends With You reference

Uh, I've spotted something that refers to Final Fantasy. The tips blurb of the (B) Black Cat Atlas, Vol. 10 says "Playing Reaper Creeper requires Matoya's spell, but "NEERC SEVAS EHT TARDNALD LOH" is a mouthful, so most folks don't bother!".

If no one understands, I might as well add it. 173.32.79.97 03:54, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

"If no one understands, I might as well add it"? What exactly do you mean by that?
...but yes, it is a perfectly good reference, seeing as Matoya's spells are known for simply being written backwards. I'm surprised it hasn't already been added, to be honest -- Sorceror Nobody Flan 15:29, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

Well, now that I see it, saying "If no one understands, I might as well add it." does look stupid.

Also... As another reference from TWEWY, there is an obtainable pin named "Tin Pin Bahamut", with the description "The ultimate Tin Pin, that of the Wyrmking. Press empty space to activate his psych, which Reapers fearfully call "Mega Flare"." Along with (spoilers) the end of Week 2, Day 7, where Sho Minamimoto uses a Level i flare on Neku and Joshua before he is erased. (endspoilers) The Level i flare probably referring to Mega Flare.

Bahamut, Shiva, Ifrit, Golem... the summons' pins are all mentioned exactly where I've just linked to. It's still worth a mention here, though, probably including precisely those links. As for Level i Flare, it's a clear reference to the many "LV #" Spells in the FF series, such as LV5 Death. Note that is the imaginary unit, , as one might expect from Pi-Face -- Sorceror Nobody Flan 15:30, November 15, 2010 (UTC)

PFF PuPu

LACC, I agree with you. I don't know if you noticed but I managed to get caught up in a war today with an unregistered contributor after I corrected a grammatical error on the Scott Pilgrim vs The World part of the Popular Culture page. He/She started removing possible FF references in the movie, so I added them back in, only for he/she to take them down again. I thought it was the right thing to do to put the points back up because yes, they may be speculation, but in that case, isn't most of the Popular Culture page speculation anyway? They could indeed be FF references so I believe they should have stayed there. What do you think?

Final Fantasy VIII In Charlie's Angels

Final Fantasy VIII does have a "two player" option. In battles, you can have the option of assigning certain characters to a second controller, in which that controller can input the character's actions in battle.

Really? i thought they had gotten rid of that feature after the SNES days --Adonzo 07:47, April 7, 2011 (UTC)
I know it can be done in IX, likely as an homage, but I haven't seen the option in VIII... -- Sorceror Nobody Flan 10:57, April 7, 2011 (UTC)

I don't think you can do that in VII, and I've never seen any other versions that have it. Tia-Lewise 12:03, April 7, 2011 (UTC)

Two-player mode wouldn't work too well in FFVIII because you have three-member battle parties. It's used in Nintendo games and in FFIX that have four party members in a party.Keltainentoukokuu 16:17, April 7, 2011 (UTC)

Really long story that has a point

So, to explain this, I need to go back about two hours. Okay, so, I went through ODK's contributions to see how long he's been away, when I saw that he has recently made an edit to Shinra News. Well, I decided to look at it, because, y'know, I hadn't for a while. So I saw the post about the Type-0 website getting new additions. So, I went to the website, but I also opened the Andriasang article that the news post came from. So, I decided to look through the database to see if there were nay other articles about Type-0. Unfortunately, I clicked the wrong button and it showed up all the articles written on the site. I eventually found what I was looking for, but I decided to keep the other page up and see if there was anything new for Dissidia 012. I did see something for Dissidia, but decided to look on and see if there was anything recent about Versus XIII (there wasn't BTW). On the way, however, I saw an article relating to Soul Calibur V (Soul Calibur is my favorite Japanesee game series other than the ones created by Square Enix). I have been periodically following SC5 since it was announced in December, (and by "periodically", I mean whenever I remember and check ) and so I read on. Seeing that the post was a day or two old, I went to the Soul Calibur Wiki itself to check the SC5 article and see if anything new was posted. What I found was this. Basically, the project director has been tweeting on the status of the game since he announced it. And the reason I'm bring this the attention of the FF Wiki is because he tweeted that he wants FF characters to be the guest characters of the game. Then I went to a link from the SC5 page, a forum talking about a live stream video chat something (I didn't go to the first page, so I don't know exactly what it is) between Famitsu and the project director (whose name is Daishi, BTW). Someone on the forum translated the thing, and one of the things brought up were the gues characters. Daishi responded by saying that they had already decided on who the GC's would be, and that they would soon announce them (the reason, as expplained, being that they need permission and copyright stuff out of the way beforehand). This, coupled with Daishi saying that he wanted FF characters as guest characters, leads me to believe that they will indeed become the guest characters in this new game. While that part is purely speculation on my part (and we won't konw anyways until the GC's are announced), I think that the fact that he wanted Final Fantasy characters (in the same way that Nomura wanted Sazh in Deoducim) is, IMO, worthy enough of being mentioned in a trivia page. The problem is, I don't know here exactly to add it. I looked for this page for like 20 minutes (I couldn't remember the name; stop judging me), but once I read through it, there didn't seem to be a place where this could go. I'm bringing this to the attention of the wiki (and most the staff), so that it might either find a place for it or leave it in the cold, metaphorically speaking. So, that's what the whole point of this message was. I need someone to tell me where this little tidbit should go, or if it isn't enough to be mentioned at all. MAD Reference to Final Fantasy

I think I saw a reference to Final Fantasy in Cartoon Network's latest episode of MAD. It was referenced as Finals Fantasy, with whom appeared to be Cloud fighting an apparent school final. Should this be listed? ♥Okami Amaterasu: There will always be a dawn!♥ 14:32, June 9, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah sounds like a deliberate reference rather than a coincidence.Keltainentoukokuu 16:37, June 9, 2011 (UTC)

Scott Pilgrim reference?

There's a part where Scott tries asking for a job at a vegetarian restaurant, and he asks if it's like a video game, but more accurately whether it is like a "job system". Is that enough of a reference, considering that the system was pioneered in Final Fantasy? Luacas 14:57, August 28, 2011 (UTC)

Dissidia 012 & Final Fantasy XII

Okay, there are posters depicits XII & 012 in Indonesian comedy show, "Comedy Project", episode 24th October 2011, and I only notice that when the show played again on TV today. Do we have to post it in the article or not? オメガ Mk.XII 11:22, January 9, 2012 (UTC)

Do you have a screenshot? Get those and then we'll talk. We can't just throw every random little thing in there, at least not without some proof. Wohdin 15:47, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

Chewbooboo

I just watched a "Pinky and the Brain" show, "Star Warners" episode to be exact. There appears to be something similar to chocobo in place of Chewbacca called "chewbooboo." Link to the image. So, should we make a mention. You know, it could a reference to Bartz and Boco, but I'm not entirely sure.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 06:58, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

I highly doubt it's a reference to Final Fantasy. It looks to be more a reference to Foghorn Leghorn. The character in question is Chicken Boo, who is apparently known for being able to imitate all sorts of people, so I don't think it's any kind of reference at all. Wohdin 15:42, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

It looks like a humanoid chicken to me, not an FF reference.C A T U S E 18:36, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

FF7 Comic

There's is seemingly popular FF7 Comic: it's a humoruos reinterpretation done by ObstinateMelon which also includes cameos of other characters, but I don't where exactly on this page it goes, so I won't include it yet. Also, we could note somehow about Comic's cameos on character pages, don't you think?—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 14:24, August 27, 2012 (UTC)
