Gilgamesh: Enough expository banter!
This talk page is used for discussing improvements to the page "Final Fantasy V translations". It is not the place for general discussion or sharing stories about the topic of this article.

I s'pose this is something for me to work on. I don't have a lot to do around here anyways.</liez I say>>

All other Translations pages are incomplete. I only added the Japanese for what I needed at the time. So in the case of the original Final Fantasy, enemies were added because I needed to add the Japanese to the pages, and getting someone to add the Romaji on one page is simple. Though it should be easy for me to find the Japanese, this takes time to add it and also match it to the English. I often hope that I find a Japanese bestiary so I can tell which piece of Japanese matches the English through the numbers.  ILHI 14:58, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Games with one English translation have one column for names. Games with two (FFT only I think) have two columns, one for each name. Games with three or more English translations have the first column for the latest name, second for other names, and of course, a link at the top to the appropriate section on the translations page.

Final Fantasy IV items is a perfect example (of course it is, I transformed it :3) of how one should look. The opening paragraph guiding users how to use the article, and the translations article. The section for "non-DS items" (items not in the latest release of the game) and it also says what translations are covered.

I love it.

SNES Names[edit source]

I don't have the SNES version so anyone who has it can please add the SNES names for the page?, thanks.

RPGe is SNES. The only columns with huge gaps is the Japanese, and its romaji. We can't do the romaji column until we get the Japanese column done and I can't be bothered to fill the Japanese column. ;)  ILHI 15:23, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

When I discover where my brother hide my FFV, I will add the PS1 names.

PSX Names[edit source]

I think we should go with the battle names, and show the menu names via the {{foot}} template.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 09:51, September 30, 2013 (UTC)
