Gilgamesh: Enough expository banter!
This talk page is used for discussing improvements to the page "Final Fantasy VI achievements". It is not the place for general discussion or sharing stories about the topic of this article.

How are we going about doing this page? I was thinking it would be like the Final Fantasy V achievements page, but it seems to be done differently here. Namely; the icons are right next to the name, and there's a new "notes" section. I have no real preference, other than that I would prefer consistency. Anyways, the list of achievements;

File:FFVI Achievement Wish You Were Here iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement Washed Up on Solitary Island iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement Terra's Truth iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement Sword Master iOS3.png File:FFVI Achievement Road to Esper World iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement Road to Carnage iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement Quintessential Adventurer iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement Portrait Time! iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement More Than King iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement Mech Mania iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement Master of Dragons iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement Masterful Mastership! iOS.png File:FFVI Achievement In the Belly of the Beast iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement "Hang On, Old Man!" iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement Gateway to the Top iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement "Fun to Save, Fun to Use" iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement "Fast Friends, Kupo!" iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement Enough Already! iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement Customer Appreciation iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement Congratulations iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement Bone Carver iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement Balance is Restored iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement An Uncommon Wizard iOS2.png File:FFVI Achievement A Chance in a Pinch iOS2.png

Though I understand some have been uploaded already, in a different format. I would replace with these, just to be consistent, but I'm not too bothered.--Magicite-ffvi-ios Technobliterator TC 13:09, June 3, 2014 (UTC)

I prefer the images on the page. Yours aren't as big. They also lack transparency, where the ones on the page don't even need transparency because they fill the gaps with something. You do have better file names, but they still aren't logical.
And I prefer VII's style of page. If there are point values for achievements then they still need to be listed. As with most other things, we can't trust the official descriptions given for the achievements to be as explanatory. And there are additional things to mention, like "if you don't rescue Shadow then you can't *blah*".
Like, FFV's page currently says "You raised Galuf to level 99.", which I assume includes Krile but it doesn't say that! 2.102.231.101 18:15, June 3, 2014 (UTC)
Oh, unless that background only exists because of the background layer its on. Which I get the feeling it is. So we can remove the background from the main images easily enough. 2.102.231.101 18:20, June 3, 2014 (UTC)
There are point values for iOS, I'm pretty certain.
I can try and earn the achievements on Android if the Android ones are preferred. Was planning on replaying anyway. I only missed two because of having no Shadow, and one because of the auction house Magicite.
However, it could be useful to keep these around in a Gallery at least?
I'd support something like FFVII's, that works for me.--Magicite-ffvi-ios Technobliterator TC 20:26, June 3, 2014 (UTC)
Well I'm guessing these are just scaled down versions of the type-ones on the page. I don't know what resolution those on the page were screenshotted at.
So what I'm thinking might me more ideal is to just cut out the non-circle parts of the page-type-ones. There's anti-aliasing but isn't there always. I'm not sure the backgrounds are that important. A non-background is more uniform because at least the circle and stuff within has it in common.
Even if we thought they were, we could upload the background stuff standalone and then overlap the images. 2.102.229.29 20:34, June 3, 2014 (UTC)
I'm working on getting them all uplaoded as soon as I earn them. The icons I am uploading are exactly as they appear (i.e. with the square border) in the "Play Games" app and at the same resolution, screenshotted and cropped. I do agree that it does make sense for the format of the table to be consistent with other games, though. --Jcjallen (talk) 23:26, June 3, 2014 (UTC)
That's sweet, and I will say the images are still useful. Only thing is; the images on this table are probably too large (not the images themselves, just use like, 40px as the image sizes?) and the images I've shown above - from Atlum - have the common circle in the middle, while yours have the border which isn't common between both. Would definitely say that yours are useful, though. If anything, putting yours in a gallery is fine.--Magicite-ffvi-ios Technobliterator TC 12:22, June 4, 2014 (UTC)
EDIT: Deleted and reuploaded, with the help of SCM. So the files work, just need a "2" added on the end. Ideally, that 2 wouldn't be there, but I guess we can rename the file in a day or two. Caching issues, I assume.--Magicite-ffvi-ios Technobliterator TC 14:00, June 4, 2014 (UTC)
EDIT: Fixed Sword Master.--Magicite-ffvi-ios Technobliterator TC 14:11, June 4, 2014 (UTC)
Why would we do that? We can just the backgrounds off the page images? 88.107.149.211 16:15, June 4, 2014 (UTC)

So are the images above utterly useless, then? Because I don't see why having 1 image for android and 1 for iOS is a bad idea, if they're both different. The difference isn't massive, but it's noticeable. A gallery is fine to me.--Magicite-ffvi-ios Technobliterator TC 15:23, June 5, 2014 (UTC)
