PSN Release
Uh, just so you guys know, it's been released on PSN in the US. Might want to fix that in the article.
Allusions
I think the Allusions should have it's own page, because there are so many in the game, other than those listed. Lynxravenraide 02:07, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
Crazyswordsman - Final Fantasy VI, because Drake says he wants to link to FF7 every day, which is bad because that game is so far inferior to FF6. TALK - 02:14, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
See that bigass ugly template on top of the page? This entire article needs to be rewritten.
TheSwordofDoubt - Xemnas may not be eternal, but his speeches definitely are. TALK - Nanoha ain't called "The White Devil" for no reason.
I think I've found another allusion to previous FF games. Should we add it? It's right here.
Again
I believe the Allusions should be a separate article. I'm moving it tonight (that is, in about six hours) if no one has a say on the matter.
Don't we have an article dedicated to in-game references within the Final Fantasy series?
...we do? Point it out to me, please.
I was asking the same thing. If we don't, what should it be called? Allusions? Crossovers? In-game References?
Edit conflict yoWell, I don't remember ever seen it. Not at the Wiki, at least. I know the FF Compendium has a big, nice, cross-reference section about the FF series, but not the Wiki. I'd call it References to the other games in Final Fantasy IX.
Personally, I feel the Allusions section in the game article to be just the right place for it. If we'd create a separate article we might as well add the FF allusions in past FFs game series as well into one big article - possibly copying the Compendium in effort and content - only ours are editable. I think I did suggest putting allusions in each of the game articles, but I think it got turned down or something.
But it's clear that IX was meant as a tribute to the rest of the series, so much as in the return to the classic style as in the several (more than in any other game in the series) references to the other FF's. A separate article, well illustrated and with a whole bunch of allusions would be a very interesting contribution.
I had my say, but I'm neutral to the matter.
AlcaeusTheWizard - is now actually contributing...well, not really TALK - Force shites upon Reason's back. -Ben Franklin, Poor Richard's Almanack, 1736. {{{time}}}
I agree with Blue that if we're going to make another page of Allusions, we might as well put all of the allusions that are within each FF game on that page. Otherwise, I say leave FF9's allusions on this page.
Active Time Events?
Lord Eliwood - "I am the oarsman who will ferry you beyond the veil! The Blighted Despot, Scarmiglione--Archfiend of earth, and first of Golbez's circle of four!" TALK - Enter Enigma {{{Time}}}
What does it mean by active time events? Are these the things where a little exclamation mark pops up over the character? I don't understand.
8bit BlackMage - Beyond the Sky TALK - Why do chemists call helium, curium, and barium 'the medical elements'? Because, if you can't 'helium' or 'curium', you... um... ._.; - {{{time}}}
No, ATEs are the little side-scenes where you press the SELECT button and a short event pops up. One example is at the beginning of the game at the Evil Forest, where the orchestra plays "Rufus's Welcoming Ceremony".
On this subject, why don't we have a/where is our page about it? ILHI 12:02, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
Is it me...
Yojimbo and Diagoro - "you smell like a polo haha do you have a hole....oooohh" TALK - Yojimbo and diagoro 00:31, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
Is it me (or maybe lack of sleep and a hangover) or in the bit where your searching for the potions to turn Cid into human again, if you go to the business district and ask the man at the bottom of the ladder opposite the station and ask about the potion he'll say 'Dammit Jim im a doctor not a miracle worker.
Allusions to other games - seperate article?
Terra_Homing - "Will you stagger on, with no star to light your way?" TALK - 14:22, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
Should I make a list of FF9 allusions on another page? Could have them seperated by game? It's on the wanted pages.
Yeah, we decided we needed one. Someone added it to Template:navbox FFIX but no one has created the page. The article should be created at Final Fantasy IX allusions, as seems to be the normal for this kind of page. (Final Fantasy IV version differences, Before Crisis -Final Fantasy VII- translations, Final Fantasy VII timeline) ILHI 14:37, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
Terra_Homing - "Will you stagger on, with no star to light your way?" TALK - 14:51, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
I'll get on that. | |||
Development section?
I could have sworn there used to be one. Or if there didn't, shouldn't there be? It seems wrong to not have one. Bluestarultor 21:46, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

Two Player battles????
Likeacupcake - Never are we more free, than when we are confined to the realm of dreams. TALK - 15:01, May 21, 2010 (UTC)
Can someone please confirm this, because, frankly, I highly doubt this. If it is, it must be the very first instance of multiplayer in the series and, Dissidia aside, the only one to date. Confirm, please?
- You can go to Config and set your controller to custom to get a second controller in use. Then you can allocate two characters to Controller 1 and the other two to Controller 2. Player 2 can only play in battle though. I think it's an 'easter egg' of some really old FF games on the nintendo where you could also do this. Keltainentoukokuu 03:44, May 22, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu
FFVI also had two player battles too. Dunno about any of the other older games though.
Actually, I think maybe it should've gone to the trivia section, because it's not really a serious gameplay feature, but more like an in-joke/homage to older games. But none of the other trivia were gameplay related, so it felt like an odd one out... Keltainentoukokuu 03:55, May 22, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu
PSN download problem?
I bought the psn download version, and I'm on disc three. Whenever I load my file from disc three, it says to put in disc three. How can I make it stay on disc three?
I'm not sure...mine automatically does it. You could try hitting the PSP button and switching disks that way.
It's not automatic whatsoever. You have to use the disc change option on the menu, by reseting the game into disc 3. If it doesn't work, download your game again and try again. - Henryacores^ 23:50, January 11, 2011 (UTC)
Enemy pages need fixing.
This is left over from the template change. All the elemental info is still in the "Weak=" format, rather than the "Fire=" format, just for examples. A dedicated person should probably go and change all of them. I keep changing this kind of thing on selected pages as I notice them, but it really needs a person with more time to dedicate and a better memory to go clean house. Bluestarultor BSA 04:22, March 12, 2011 (UTC)

Misspelling?
I just began second second playthrough of this awesome game and I think I noticed a misspelling: it's on the first disc when two Alexandrian Soldiers chase after Puck and Vivi after the sword fight Zidane vs. Blank; one of the chasing soldiers says "Furry!" instead of "Hurry!" I think. Could someone else confirm it?—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 18:19, April 26, 2013 (UTC)
- No, he said "Fury!!!". JBed (talk) 18:45, April 26, 2013 (UTC)
- Well, in any case it doesn't sounds appropriate for the situation in my opinion. Or would it be subtle allusion to Fujin and her manner of speech?—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 18:55, April 26, 2013 (UTC)

Unable to add reference
I am unable to add reference to the latest mobile development info I just added, because I get a message: "Your edit includes new external links. To help protect against automated spam, please complete the challenge below:" but then just empty space. I assume there is supposed to be something there, but nothing appears even if I turn by script blockers off or try it in MS Edge, so whatever, there it is without the reference. -_-
Here's what I wanted to add as a ref:

One order o' fresh dev commentary comin' up!
Long story short, Square Enix unloaded a mini-documentary on IX that you can view here: https://youtu.be/FdsqEurMd2I. Loads of retrospective steak to savor, so dig in! Swordzmanp236 (talk) 05:56, March 22, 2019 (UTC)
