Web Novels?

What about those web novels? Are they included in the Fabula Nova Crystallis?Wikiguy 11:26, April 5, 2010 (UTC)

Fabula Nova Crystallis

Excuse me, "the new tale of the crystal"? Puh-lease! Surely it's far more likely to be "new crystal legend", given that that phrase crops up a few times in FFXIII. Fabula implies "fable", which is quite a bit more mystical than just "tale" -- Sorceror Nobody Flan 08:31, May 18, 2010 (UTC)

Universe

In fact, it has been stated by the creators that the three Fabula Nova Crystalis games take place on the same very [1]. While I know the games' setting is different, I doubt that their connection is similar to this of Final Fantasy I - III - V, which take place in different Universes completely. After all, so far, don't Final Fantasy games' Universes differ from number to number? They could probably exist in different planets, or whatsoever. --Ash Pokemaster June 26, 2010 (UTC)

After some research, I found an official statement, which I added to the article. Adapt it as you consider best! --Ash Pokemaster 13:21, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Final Fantasy Type-0

I thought that a recent article stated that, after the name change, the creators decided that the game had no real connection to the Fabula Nova Crystallis series. So it was being taken out of the series, and is now a standalone game, with its own possible series in the make.

If this is true, shouldn't it be taken off this page?Johnlanigan 22:40, January 23, 2011 (UTC)

The official FNC site still has it.Keltainentoukokuu 22:45, January 23, 2011 (UTC)

L'Cie

in the video of of the Fabula Nova Crystallis it was told that Lindzei and Pulse created fal'cie and l'cie before the first humans appear how is that possible?

the l'cie part is not mentioned in the article at all

mfg Olli

It is possible that the term l'Cie doesn't refer specifically to humans, only to any "lesser" entities than fal'Cie who have been given a Focus to fulfil. Because humans' entry into the world appears accidental rather than pre-planned, it was probably never intended for fal'Cie to transform humans into l'Cie. Then at some point they realised that they are able to do that, and so it led to what is seen in FFXIII.
There is no information available of these original l'Cie talked of in the Fabula Nova Crystallis mythology video, so they are not mentioned in the article. I'll try to work something in though, since they are still mentioned in it, so it would be within the scope of this article.Keltainentoukokuu 18:38, January 27, 2012 (UTC)EDIT: I mean the l'Cie article. :)Keltainentoukokuu 18:39, January 27, 2012 (UTC)

Gods' names localisation

Buniberzei is localised as "Bhunivelze," and Muin as "Mwynn." SourceKaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 21:07, February 5, 2012 (UTC)

Chaos origin

In this page, it is written that the Chaos of the unseen world is a by product of the creation of the Fal'Cie. This is not described in the video so I wonder, where does it come from?

Muhyul

I have been wondering it myself. It makes sense, but I don't recall it from originating from any official material. It appears though that "souls" of beings are meant to naturally flow from the visible world to invisible world and back again; creating immortal soulless beings like the fal'Cie that will never go to the invisible world when they die could make an imbalance, that when fal'Cie are born in the visible world then chaos is born in the invisible world. But like said, there is no official material to confirm this as far as I know.Keltainentoukokuu 04:06, April 2, 2012 (UTC)

According to the video, humans received a soul only once Etro gave them a part of Chaos so creating the Fal'Cie shouldn't change anything.

Muhyul

I believe chaos was created as soon as Mwynn created the universe (we do have Gran Pulse and Oriense, remember that Cocoon in any form is artificial) or at least when Bhunivelze murdered her. Etro's "suicide" just opened her path to Valhalla.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 10:22, April 2, 2012 (UTC)

The part of the mythology is quite hazy, because it suggests there are many other beings than humans that are all part of the cycle, because everything was in place before the planet of Gran Pulse was even created, supposedly, so "souls" of some kind must have existed before Etro gave people pieces of chaos. The stories are all told from the humans' perspective though, and none of these other lifeforms and gods are ever seen, so the human aspect is the only thing that is explored. Chaos existed before Etro ever went to the Invisible World, and it is implied that it was chaos that completely killed Mwynn (she was overwhelmed by chaos and disappeared or something). Where it came from is not specified, but it appears to be something "unnatural" that perhaps wasn't originally part of the universe, because someone had to be set as the one who controls it, and both Etro and Mwynn came to this role by chance. It used to be Mwynn, but she passed it on to Etro who came up with a new plan to contain it, by introducing chaos as part of the cycle by giving some of it to humans.

I think the idea that chaos was born in the Invisible World because there was an imbalance between the number/quality of "souls" between the two worlds, is as good guess as any, but it probably shouldn't be in the article if it doesn't have any official origin. Problem is it's in quite a few articles by now, so I put off contesting it myself...Keltainentoukokuu 12:09, April 2, 2012 (UTC)

I have removed the claim that chaos is the by-product of Bhunivelze creating fal'Cie in the Visible World from this article and the chaos article, but it may still persist in some other articles here.Keltainentoukokuu 12:32, April 2, 2012 (UTC)

Souls didn't exist before Etro gave Chaos to human kind according to the mythology. Mwynn could have created Chaos to take revenge on Bhunivelze. Besides this unbalance thing doesn't stand since the fal'Cie can die (Etro, the Cocoon fal'Cie,Anima, Dahaka and we don't know what happened to Pulse and Lindzei). I think of Chaos as a kind of anti matter or the black smoke from LOST (for the "will" to go out of the unseen world), something that has always been around, something we don't know much about.

Two questions

1. The god of the logo, was not confirmed as Bhunivelze? I don't know if are rumors or not.

2. This ancient trademark from (at least) 2007 was real? [2] [3] [4]

Sorry if my english is bad. --Con Carne Is that your final answer? 01:26, April 5, 2012 (UTC)

The figure in the logo is said to be a god from the myths but not confirmed which one. Suppose it's left for each to their own to decide for themselves. The pics you have posted below are drawn by Yoshitaka Amano, but not for Final Fantasy, he does a lot of other work as well.Keltainentoukokuu

The Lightning Saga

Since the three FFXIII games have been officially dubbed as part of the "Lightning Saga", should there be a template for it? User:FFfangirl 4:12 p.m., December 1, 2012

No, it's a subcompilation of FNC. It can be already mentioned at {{FNC}} as "Lightning Saga" in the first line, the second linking to the games in chronological order, and under it Type-0 and Versus XIII.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 21:25, December 1, 2012 (UTC)

On the subject of the "Lightning Saga" name, how official is it? (i.e. Is it officially used the umbrella title for the FFXIII trilogy?) I was considering revising the opening blurbs of the major characters to something like "xx is a major character in the Lightning Saga" and then summarizing their roles in each title. (e.g. Like how Aerith's opening blurb introduces her as a major character in the Compilation.) But it's just an idea—the name doesn't sound too official and hasn't been used elsewhere. It would make a great way to introduce Lightning and the main cast, though. —Mierna 08:41, December 22, 2013 (UTC)

I don't think it's used by many media outlets, but it's how Square Enix refers to the story now. In virtually every interview I've seen, that's how they term the three games and their tie-in media. --Crystal Tear (talk) 08:45, December 22, 2013 (UTC)
It was used the first time in the name of the presentation where they announced Lightning Returns, because they wouldn't call it "Lightning Returns presentation" or anything if the game's not been announced yet. Then it also appears that is how some developers refer to the FFXIII series. I'm a bit iffy about using it here though, it sounds like a colloquialism. The term doesn't appear in any of the official websites or anything like that as far as I know. I think "Final Fantasy XIII trilogy" is better when referring to all three games because "Final Fantasy XIII" appears in all three of the games' names at least.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 14:44, December 22, 2013 (UTC)

Is it now safe to assume the deity depicted in the FNC logo is Bhunivelze? --FFfangirl (talk) 02:05, December 14, 2013 (UTC)

Not really. It could still be any of the deities. Remember, the XIII games have kept with a theme of depicting deities as mechanical-style beings, so it could be Lindzei, or Mwynn for all we know. And we also mustn't forget that the mythos is meant to be interpreted a number of ways, so saying definitively that it's one deity or another might not be the best idea. Better to let Square Enix reveal who it is, if they want to. --Crystal Tear (talk) 09:01, December 14, 2013 (UTC)
