Dissidia sequel?[]
Didn't Super smash brothers have a sequel? with more characters? that was super smash brothers melee. The super smash brothers brawl. Their first game had 15 characters. dissidia has "20" so far. Maybe, they will have a sequel, this time on more platforms. | |||

That page has been referring to Dissidia as DDFF, and according to that article, I think it has something to do with Dissidia and Kingdom Hearts to be transferred to PS3?

How come everybody thinks Cloud will fight Sephy. Why not Aerith. I mean if this game is in a different ""world then I guess that Aerith/Aeris would be Alive. Aerith is more representing of light then Cloud. I guess that she could wield a staff withblades at the end. Materiasdraw
Lame. It should be Tifa. Then Sephiroth and Tifa can fall in love and conquer the universe together. And then gather up a space shuttle full of Vaan, Cait Sith, Quina Quen, the entire cast of FFVIII (sans Edea), and Rikku, then launch the whole gaggle into a star that just so happens to be supernova-ing at that very second. That would make it the most awesome game ever made. PS: A nightmare of mine that I once had is that it will turn out to be Genesis. EWWWWWWW!!! I hear that he's supposed to be good now, or some shit. naaaw! it's Cid! After killin Sephy, Cid climbs down the pit of Hades and kills the legion of the undead while fighting the dead FF bosses all at once. By the time he reached th bottom he was in a blind fury and kills Aerith (again). For his sins, Lucifer had Cid's spear attached to his hand by a flaming chain, the badass then kills Lucifer before he ends up in front of Zack, now bald and armed with two flaming buster swords in his hands and linked by a chain. The fight was so intense they killed all the dead FF heroes before Cid impales his spear tru Zacks brain (Zack's only weakness). Cid then climbs up the Pit of Hades while cutting down the arms of Hades himself trying to capture the badass soul, by the time Cid's up, he turned pale and bald and kills the other cast of Dissidia. Thats how it should have been, I kno cuz The guys at Squeenix told me the earth shattering plot. | |||
Cloud was sorta announced without being announced at ComicCon when he showed up amongst the Dissidia Trading Arts. With the DKΣ3713 Party coming up this weekend, I get the feeling that a new trailer will be released (there are already rumors on the Japanese web of a take-home demo showing up as well) that will probably confirm him and a few others. It is a lil sad how under-represented the girls of FF are in this game... Terra is pretty much the only hope at this point. (Though, in my secret land of rainbows and unicorns, I have hope that Faris would represent FFV for Cosmos. Ah, que sera sera...) | |||
Was that confirmed to be Dissidia Cloud? I mean I saw the small pictures of it and it was the only one in color, unlike the other prototypes. I don't doubt Cloud will be in this (fanboys would rage if he wasn't), but that figure looked like the Cloud Play Arts figure that has been out for awhile. | |||

Take a look at this image as well as this one. He's right between Dissidia Sephiroth and Warrior of Light, and thus right by the display label. We can also rule out the other two FF7 style Cloud Trading Arts - Volume 1 and Potion - since their poses and other details are different. I was skeptical at first as well, but I can't really argue with the evidence. | |||

realy Square-enix will put the warrior of light and Onion Knight nameless maybe the Onion Knight name will be Luneth, but the Warrior of Light??

Everything in the new magazine scans say "Onion Knight" and people who played the DKS demo also confirm that he was listed as "Onion Knight." It is perfectly logical for him to represent the FFIII, as Onion Knight was the original version of Freelancer in that game, the starting class of the original heroes of the game. | |||
FFXI and XII characters confirmed[]
If you extract the character flashpage named "chara.swf" off the official Dissidia website, and use a Flash Decompiler to analyze these files, you can find the code of the "Wheel" animation of the character page. Within that code, there are frames labelled "ff11" and "ff12". Screenshot of the SWF code:

I know this sounds sloppy, but please try it if you want, it's true. I think this confirms that FFXI and XII characters were at least planned at some point, even if they end up scrapping them in the final version of the game or something (I think I remember reading that there will only be 10 characters, then again I also read that there would be 13 "worlds"). Interesting. I'm guessing the thirteen worlds may be the twelve FFs main worlds (because giving one game two and the rest only one would treat them unfairly) and one Dissidia world. Maybe.

As far as the ten games comes from, the Japanese website states pretty clearly "The one fragile hope left for the world are the 10 warriors led by Cosmos." That same line as part of the "story" of Dissidia has been around since May 2007. As for these new frames, I assume they're not connected to anything or you would have included that, Fire2. But if there is more information, I would really like to hear it. | |||

What we have is a good quality picture, and the individual pictures we have right now are mostly low quality scans. People who want to view them individual pictures can go to the character's individual pages. Also, I don't think there's anything particularly annoying with the wording. | |||

Before I go ballistic with the news, I must point out that the sources at Wikipedia on Terra's appereance are completely illegible. I don't think we should rush to conclusions. | |||
First of all, the talk page notes that the characters section has been subjected to vandalism recently. Secondly, the reference section is in utter disarray and I hardly believe that any of those links would validate any of this. In short, this isn't true (okay, the Terra part probably is, but not the rest). If you even scroll up on this Talk Page, I've done my best to prove with verifiable research that Cloud's Trading Arts figure at ComicCon was a hint to his inclusion in the game, thus negating Aerith unless better evidence can be provided. | |||

Contesting the Sides issue[]
I'd like to contest the theory that there are rigid sides in which characters of the same side refuse to fight each other. Zidane and Firion are both listed as loyalists to Cosmo, yet they're clearly shown fighting against each other.

A branching board style map was said to have been shown in the latest trailer and Nomura stated in an interview: This also isn't that same mechanic of action-based fighting in continuous encounters. Who do you want to appear, it's probably going to be: Cecil, Bartz, Terra, and Cloud. I'd prefer: Rydia, Bartz [Since I've never played V], Terra, and Aerith. Just because Rydia's mother was killed and her village destroyed along with many deaths there as well... all because of Golbez / Zeromus. So, she's an obvious choice out of them all besides Cecil, since he's the main character. I choose Aerith just because it would bring in the Darkness vs. Light aspect of the game. Plus, some people may say she's dead and wouldn't be in it. But, isn't just about every villian dead by the time you kill them at the end? Plus, it'd be a grudge match against them, since he killed her. And it'd be nice to see Terra since she obviously has better abilities above people who say Locke should be in it. Seeing her transform into her Esper form would be awesome. :) I never played V, so, Bartz being the main character would be my guess for that. What are everyone else's opinions? | |||

Bit about Onion Knight and Ingus[]
Hi, I was wondering if it would be alright if we got rid of the bit about Onion Knight possibly being Ingus. A user on Gamefaqs posted this scan -> [1] , roughly translated he states that Onion Knight's design is a mix of all three Onion Knights (including Luneth). I honestly can not read what it says, but from the illustration it appears as though he is telling the truth. What's so fucking hard about keeping Terra and Celes in there? It's obviously one of the two. They're the only females seen working for the Empire, and both of them were allies-turned-enemies of Kefka's, so his referring to them as "friends" would make sense. There's already enough debate over which one is the true main character, so there's no way we could name only one.. but saying "whose identity is unknown" is fucking stupid. It's one or the other. Guaranteed. End of discussion. So why not just fucking SAY so? Take this idiotic bickering somewhere productive, why don't you? Surely there are other topics on which there's actual debate to be had. Games represented[]
I know it was a debated topic before, but I've not seen this point brought up. The trailer on this very wiki has a translation which, IIRC, said something to the effect of "the world has been created twelve times, and is on the verge of a thirteenth". If you ask me--and dammit, you did ask me, because I said so--that makes it pretty clear that FF1-12 will all be represented somehow, and perhaps Lightning will even have a little cameo. It's a bit too speculative to add to the article, but.. thoughts? Personally, I reckon it'll have some sort of customizable character for 11, no villain for 13 to spare story spoilers (since I believe this comes first), and that the non-numbered sidegames will get no mention. | |||

Personally, I think that just because the game mentions that amount of main-numbered Final Fantasies created doesn't mean they will include characters from each game. If they do decide to include XI-XIII, it's curious how they have hidden the last entries in the compilation in order to reveal them last. If they do even include those characters, I think it would only be as secret characters and not as storyline characters. Seeing Lightning come out in Dissidia before XIII.... meh... | |||

Yes, but I honestly doubt they will put anyone from any game other than FF1-10...and maybe put Lightning. Remember, they put Squall on Chocobo Racing in order to advertise VIII, and I bet they will do the same. As for characters from FFXI-XII...not likely. | |||

Dissidia seems to be a nonexistant word outside of this game--neither Wikipedia nor Dictionary.com have anything on it. So how does the title imply anything? | |||
Someone on GFaqs once posted what the hell it meant. The word is derived from a musical term, and that term means something like "conflicting harmonies". Yeah, I don't remember too well, but if someone could find the explanation, that'd be dandy. | |||

The people on GFaqs say it is Latin for conflict. It seems to make sense, since every character in the game has had a conflict with another person who is also present in the game. Playable characters[]
As far as I know, the policy here is that the first playable appearance of a character gets the infobox (Luca, Al-Cid, etc). But where does this leave us with Dissidia? I highly doubt we'll ever get any other playable Cloud of Darknesses or Garlands, but at the same time, it's a spinoff and has such a vastly different style (no sprites or portraits thus far, etc) that it would seem out of place to put just about every villain as their Dissidia art. But at the same time, this is their first playable appearance. What do we do? | |||

Im sure Cloud put his sword away for that moment, he has to take a break when lifting that thing. I can't see anything that screams 'Terra' about that silhouette--she and Celes have nearly identical gloves in their CGI forms and some art, and no other details are clearly visible. Beyond that, the FF6 Ultimania thing (see Kefka talk page for source) indicates that he treasures Celes as something to play carefully with--he even refers to her as a doll, and also like a family member. Terra, on the other hand, he fears and has no such attachment to. Thus, I think Kefka's dialogue points towards Celes being the heroine pick. | |||
With Terra, it's more about her cape in that shot than anything else. If you watch it in "pseudo-slowmo" by rapidly pausing the trailer, you can see that her cape is white/cream with red splotches along the bottom. A similar design is seen in this image of Terra, which was the first thing I thought of when I heard about her suspected appearance in the trailer (since Amano Art weighs in far heavier than CG for Dissidia). And when you take into account this lightened screenshot of 4:42, her identity seems pretty solid. Note that on the other side we have Onion Knight, clearly the one standing beside the cloaked woman in the establishment shot. I think that is sufficient evidence based on the trailer itself for the woman being Terra, but please feel free to debate if you find contradictory evidence within the material. (I mean, there are a few frames at 1:59 where you can spot the cloaked woman in the background, but due to distance her cream cape appears as a white spot.) | |||
Dont judge books by its cover, as long as the game's not yet out, dont "confirm" anything, remember with MGS2? Kojima made billions of commercials and pics with Solid Snake as main, but u ends up playing the game as <shock!!> Raiden </shock!!> I cant confirm mysefl if it's what Squeenix going to do, but its possible and it can really boost the marketing. Hm, yes, it does look a lot like Terra in that pic. But keep this in mind--while Amano's art is the prevailing influence, bits of the ingame sprites/models have crept in in the past. Sephiroth Squall, for instance--while their outfits have changes from Amano's designs, their faces and overall looks are identical to Nomura's previous versions. And Sephiroth is left-handed again, while Amano's was right. As pointed out above, Kefka's dialogue heavily implies Celes. And Celes DID have a white cape in her sprite. It might just be a modification to tie in her two designs. | |||

Schala-Kitty's screenshot clearly shows Bartz, not Terra. Compare with the first pic in this section; WoL, Zidane and Firion (caped guy, with a bow) are at the same place in both screenshots. Again, the characters are at the same positions in both screenshots. It makes no sense that Terra would all of a sudden be in the middle of the group in that third shot when she was at the far left in the first. And it's not a skirt, it's a sash. The other thing that makes it Bartz is the striped black and white trousers, which Amano's design of Bartz shares. That and the lack of cape makes it impossible to be Terra. Separate character pages for Dissida?[]
The Dissidia section in each characters page is getting larger and I can only imagine how long it'll be once the game is released. List of skills, equipment, and other things we don't know about yet. It might be a little less messy and more organized to make a separate page for each character just for Dissidia, like the enemy pages some characters have. Don't think we need it right now but I noticed with the EX Mode screenshots being added it's getting there. | |||
We'll see how much content will be added in once the game is released first. Only then will we decide if separation is warranted. | |||

I've been reading that apparently his EX-Mode is neither the Paladin or Dark Knight class but that he can switch between them freely. Somebody who can read Japanese text needs to confirm if this is true or not. | |||
