would anyone?[]
Would anyone else consider the armored horses related to the ones that warp around? --Crazyswordsman 04:09, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
- Perhaps. I'm just listing related enemies based on the genus and classification given in the bestiary entries. Armored horses are usually "beast/sleipnir" and the others, like Darkmare, are "fiend/nightmare." They are both horse-looking, though. It would make for kind of a long "related enemies" section on the pages, but do you want me to put them all together? Mymindislost 04:20, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
- The way I understood it, Sleipnirs ARE nightmares, so all of the Sleipnir genus are also of the nightmare genus, they just are a more robust kind of nightmare so they get all grouped under the sleipnir branch. Renmiri 04:40, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'm gonna go ahead and say they're not related, since they look and act pretty differently, apart from looking like horses. Nightmares have snake manes and can teleport, sleipnirs have blades or spikes or something on their heads. Ren, where did you get that information? I haven't heard that anywhere. Just want to know, not meaning to sound rude, or anything... Mymindislost 23:04, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
- You are correct. I was confusing things. Rare Game is derived of a monster (i.e. Avenger derived of Bune making both of the genus Headless) but the genus are pretty much set. Why are you guys repeating the genus at each page instead of making a page for each genus ? Renmiri 05:27, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- What do you mean by repeating the genus on each page? Are you talking about sub-categories for each genus? Mymindislost 08:18, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yep. Instead of repeating "Related" 5 or 6 times, why not make a single page for it ? It would help with searches too: Search all Avis or Search all of the category Skeleton. Renmiri 08:21, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

- Adding Genus would also help know which monsters get affected by which monograph Renmiri 08:24, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
HP[]
Some guides say the original version HP is "4680-4738" but looking at old YouTube videos this is not correct, and is something like 14,000 HP instead, so probably should have been 14680-14738. Weird though that there seems to be a new value for Zodiac (at least as listed here) that is almost the same.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 22:02, February 3, 2019 (UTC)
- I wouldn't remember, but is it possible the HP value changes upon returning to the Stilshrine after completing the story there? Munchvtec (talk) 23:33, February 3, 2019 (UTC)
- SplitInfinity's guide gets its data from the International Ultimania (which also just lists stat changes and doesn't contain an entire bestiary). JBed (talk) 03:51, February 4, 2019 (UTC)
- I now think the 4680 HP is from the original JP version, and that it was boosted to the 14,000 in the localized versions, and then they kept this HP for the International+ versions. This is what they did with Crystalbug (red) also. I tried googling Darkmare's Japanese name from the page, and FFDic (via Google Translate) just says "In the international version HP has more than doubled." Didn't see any useful videos on this search though.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 22:08, February 5, 2019 (UTC) EDIT: Too bad the in-game bestiary doesn't show stats so checking is not possible but the other "Zodiac" stats are probably in place since the first localization too, then.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 22:24, February 5, 2019 (UTC)
- The original Japanese guidebook, not the Ultimania, gives the value as "4680-4738," so it is probably the case. Something else not really related that I noticed, this wikia stops MP values at 999, I'm aware that's because it's what's given in other guidebooks, though the original guide lists some above 999. Darkmare's, for example, is "1100-1180." Munchvtec (talk) 22:35, February 5, 2019 (UTC)
- Original Japanese Darkmare. I'd assume all stat changes apply to the English version, and it's probably worth mentioning the English guides list the enemy's original stats. JBed (talk) 23:13, February 5, 2019 (UTC)
- You guys are just the best, look at that Darkmare not having 14,000 HP.
- FFXII has invisible "Break HP/MP Limit" in that you can have more but it only shows 9999/999, but you can't view enemy MP with Libra (?right?) and enemies can use skills even without MP (?) so why would the MP be capped in the guides... I think enemy MP just shows how much you can Syphon from them.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 22:01, February 6, 2019 (UTC)
- EDIT: WHY IS THIS EXP DIFFERENT THAN ANY NUMBER GIVEN IN ANY GUIDE. They don't know what this enemy's stats are do they.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 22:19, February 6, 2019 (UTC)

The game doesn't show MP values for anything other than party members. I'm more inclined to believe that these values are their actual MP, but they just gain it back through other means. Like attacking and such, but I guess we will never really know. I could go ahead and add all the 999+ MP values from that guide, though there aren't many as it doesn't contain a complete bestiary. About your edit, the EXP value is just divided by the party members, yeah? Not incorrect it seems.
Edit: There is a 0 MP Augment that only a handful of enemies have. If that's what you're referring to. Munchvtec (talk) 22:31, February 6, 2019 (UTC)
- That's right EXP is divided, huh, you'd think it'd show the full yield and then just divide in the menu. I've forgotten everything about FFXII it seems! I don't remember "enemy can't perform because it is out of MP" message ever popping up, I thought they were all like the Espers (they have MP but even if they run out nothing happens).Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 03:32, February 7, 2019 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's weird. I imagine they're just incapable of running out entirely. Perhaps they gain it back faster or something, who knows *shrugs*. Seems odd to me that every enemy would have their own individual value if they don't need it for anything. Regarding Espers, they're likely a special case. Not really enemies, not really Guest party members, it's weird. Munchvtec (talk) 03:39, February 7, 2019 (UTC)
