Gilgamesh: Enough expository banter!

What about the formations ? attack ? defense ? etc

Question!

If what the page said about the players training themselves to hold their breath in water is true, then how come when Nap Tackle/Nap Pass/Nap Shot is used the players can still stay in the water? Or can they still hold their breath asleep?

Best "blitzballs"

Could someone tell me which characters are best for certain positions? Like "Brother is excellent midfielder". FINAL FANTASY X interests me.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 13:05, March 19, 2011 (UTC)

Hiatus

The choice "Play Blitzball" at Save Spheres is greyed out and unavailable for a period of time, during FFX; I would guess once the party enters the Macalania Temple. Without specifics, I can't add that to the article yet, but I think it would be helpful information for the more fervent of new or repeat blitzball players. It comes back as soon as the party enter the Calm Lands (but not before-- as soon as they enter, they can go back to the Woods and Play Blitzball from the savepoint). I can't remember when it greys though. 79.69.196.49 22:39, September 27, 2011 (UTC)
Available before battle with Seymour, but not after. 79.69.196.49 23:19, September 27, 2011 (UTC)
I should have followed my instincts and kept an early save. But I do have another reason to start again from the first Blitzball game, which is to make a save just before the Chocobo Knights wipeout/ Sinspawn Gui fight, to check replacement discs for the glitch there, so I may do another replay. And thank you for the information about the Calm Lands. VvAnarchangelvV 01:46, September 28, 2011 (UTC)

Stats

The Stats section should be divided by game. FFX and X-2 work differently. Besides, X-2 is missing things. MOR and GIL?

Also this page lacks almost any information about X-2 besides a few mentions in stats and the story section. Dis article sux. 79.69.200.164 15:06, July 27, 2012 (UTC)

Trade

I just used Trade Privileges to take Bickson from the Goers and gave them Yuna. After doing this I was awarded the prize for top-scorer... because Bickson was the top-scorer.

But what I want to know is what happens if I were to now release Bickson? What the Goers get him back? What he join the scout-able players? 79.69.192.133 20:10, July 29, 2012 (UTC)

First game

Is it actually possible to win the first game? Because it seems to me that whenever the goers AREN'T ahead, not only do the AI on your team become completely useless, but the goers start doing insane things- like passing or shooting from really far away, and still making it despite a number of people guarding them; one of them never fails to steal the ball from you- no matter what the score is, or how far the stats are in your favor.

Yes it is possible. Doreiku Kuroofangu 00:50, August 12, 2012 (UTC)
It's actually quite easy once you gain a little experience. It's all about keeping the ball and passing and gaining experience in the first half (i.e. don't engage the goers), ensure Tidus gets at least one experience point, then in the second half equip Tidus with the Jecht Shot (if he learned it) and score a goal with it. It's possible to score another goal when Wakka comes in. Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 09:48, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

Ok- I somehow managed to win. Just built up exp the first half (couldn't prevent them scoring once), ended up tying it 1-1 when wakka got in, then won in overtime by hugging the left side- so only the incompetent one goes after you if you play it right.

"Blitz Off" music change?

Should it be noted that there seem to be two versions of the "Blitz Off" song? Anyone who starts a new game and goes through the tournament will notice the song sounds simple when compared to an endgame file where you've played a hundred hours or so. Youtube's "Blitz Off" videos almost all have the second version, where a few riffs are added and pitches changed.

Information on Blitzball Tournaments and Cups

I have never actually played blitzball in the game but aren't there like different leagues and stuff? Could anything of this be added?Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 00:30, February 1, 2014 (UTC)

There is the Spira League and the Yevon Cup, I think, but they're the only two I know of. I don't know how they handled it for X-2. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 00:35, February 1, 2014 (UTC)

Merging Bobba, Jimma and Zanar with this page

The Bobba, Jimma and Zanar pages need to be merged with this one. On the Talk:Bobba page, it was mentioned that they should be merged with this page and their names on the Final Fantasy X characters should redirect to here. I was thinking we could make a new section of this page titled "Blitzball Commentators" or something, but I think it'd make more sense to change "Teams and Players" to "Characters" or something and add a section under that for the commentators. Blitzball Players in Navboxes

Shouldn't we include blitzball players in navboxes for FFX and FFX-2?—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 21:49, July 6, 2015 (UTC)

You beat me to asking this. Anyways, they should. Fenrir9 (talk) 21:53, July 6, 2015 (UTC)
