Gilgamesh: Enough expository banter!
This talk page is used for discussing improvements to the page "Black Materia (Final Fantasy VII)". It is not the place for general discussion or sharing stories about the topic of this article.

In KH2, if you watch Sephiroth when he uses Meteo, he rises into the air, lifts a hand over his head, and a dark red glow with tendrils of black energy pulse from his hand as the meteors come down. He's too far away to see closely in-game, but the glow has a distinctive spherical shape. Anyone know if this might be the Black Materia? I couldn't get close enough to him to tell but a good screencap may reveal it. Drake Clawfang 23:37, September 15, 2009 (UTC)

Believe in the future, and persist in the present, that's what I'll do!
After checking out a video of the fight, I definitely see that it's meant to be the Black Materia in spirit, especially as the similar ability in Dissidia seems directly based from it.

The real question is whether 'in spirit' is enough to justify inclusion.

I'd say it should go in if we can get a good screenshot of the attack where you can see the "orb" shape, to prove it's the Black Materia. Otherwise, it may be too vague to put in. Drake Clawfang 05:02, September 16, 2009 (UTC)

It says on the Lifestream page that the Planet created the Black Materia. Question is, why? Planet: "Hmm, I'm bored. I know, I'll build myself a suicide mechanism, just for kicks and giggles. Actually, it'd finally give Omega and Chaos something to do. Damn layabouts".

The White Materia is easy to understand, because it's the ultimate cure-all for whatever messes with the Planet. I can only assume that the Black Materia was an inadvertent but inevitable universe-balancing counterpart when the White Materia was created -- Sorceror Nobody Flan.PNG 15:51, May 16, 2010 (UTC)

That should be removed, then. I don't recall any mention anywhere of how the Black Materia was created. Doreiku Kuroofangu 16:14, May 16, 2010 (UTC)
