Gestalt drain?[]

My bother just faced the first form and came to inform me that there's something that Barthandelus did that made his Gestalt bar start draining. He doesn't know if it was a specific action or some sort of automatic effect, but he said he'd worked up to almost a full bar and it began to quickly drain out, leaving him with only 6 points of Gestalt by the time he could activate it. Is this a hazard of the Gestalt system I wasn't aware of? Can someone confirm an attack of some sort being behind it? More information is needed here, because there's nothing mentioned in the article and if it's a boss attack, it definitely needs to be addressed. He's putting the game down over this, and I'm sure others are just as unhappy. Bluestarultor 22:23, March 14, 2010 (UTC)

The Gesalt bar draining? I know that when Barthandelus starts charging up Destrudo, then his Stagger bar automatically drops to 0, but as for Gestalt I'm not sure. It must be some ability Barthandelus uses, not an error in the Gestalt system. 8bit 23:07, March 17, 2010 (UTC)
He also is able to cast Doom on you. This is by far the cheapest boss EVER. BTW, copying this over to the new boss page. Bluestarultor 04:23, March 18, 2010 (UTC)
For the Gestalt bar, I noticed that happened to me against a different boss. Using Odin, I ran out of SP when I had a full Gestalt bar, and the bar rapidly drained down. On a note about the Doom ability from the second battle, I'm fighting him right now, he just used it on me. It says on the page that anytime around 600k hp he would use it. Currently, for me, he has 1,407,451 hp. The official guide says 400-500k hp. I think I got cheated -_- Timmage 06:26, March 19, 2010 (UTC) 19:09, March 18, 2010 (UTC)
as far as doom is concerned it is cast if the battle lasts 20 minuets, it will either spell an instant loss or force you to go heavily offensive and risk the wrath of destucto death. its recommened you beat him before this occures. JamesDC99 18:29, March 27, 2010 (UTC)

I'm not sure about the Gestalt Drain thing because I never summoned anything against Barthandelus, but I do know that he casts Doom if you take too long while fighting him. He got me with Doom the first time I fought him, but then I tried again and he never cast it so he doesn't cast it at a certain HP threshold. oh and if you think this fight is hard just wait 'till you get to the final boss... Yeah, I think you're right about the time threshold. He used it on me at 2.06M hp this time. There's no way that I can deal that kind of damage to him without Army of One with Lightning, and I don't get access to that attack until AFTER I beat him. Quick edit on the second battle section. I removed the section where it gave a specific health range for Doom, and replaced it with a rough time area. I fought him many times, and the last time, when I won, he never used Doom, and I was at 19:45 for battle time. I also edited my previous post here with teh correct name of Lightnings ability. Your Gestalt bar will drain when the Eidolon runs out of SP. It goes down quick, you can lose most of it in a few seconds.124.187.172.22 01:53, April 7, 2010 (UTC)

Third fight and Thanatosian Laughter[]

Has anyone else noticed that he seems to cast Thanatosian Laughter more frequently when using paradigms like Relentless Assault? I'm now fighting against him and everytime i change to Relentless Assault, Thanatosian Laughter comes out either immediately or in no more than 10 seconds. :/ --Sovereign92 19:48, March 22, 2010 (UTC)

Fight one My method and the Theory of Rhythm[]

my party was Lightning Snow and Hope. you can swap snow for Fang and Hope for Vanille if you want well firstly i quickly as possible kill the pauldrons and aliiets (left pauldron = lightning, left aliette = fire, right pauldron = ice and right aliete =water) (spelling is wronge) with relentless assault (COM+RAV+RAV), diversity(COM+RAV+MED) and Tri-Disaster (RAV_RAV_RAV) (the latter isn't needed) once there stagger it keep health above 60% with diversity and inflict as much damage as is humanly possible getting stagger up to 999% helps, then you alter from attack to heal as with a normal fight but i must absolutly make sue your at 90-100% hp when he does destructo so as soon as the caption appears heal. once full attack again he cant hit you and if you get him to galf stagger he has to recharge and the attack only does half dmg plus your nearer stagger after he does it heal with Combat Clinic (MED+SENT+MED). it helps to have buffs on you so you can survive longer periods od dmg and destruto so that's why i used hope over vanille. keep up this tactic till he dies he should die before you even see Doom and you shouldn't need a edolion. all the attacks other then destructo are quiet pathetic. multi-Enemies[]

I suggest we use multi-Enemies for before and after the adornments are destroyed. C A T U S E 07:37, January 1, 2013 (UTC)
