Talent (のうりょく, Nōryoku?, lit. Ability) is a command in Final Fantasy Legend III, most of these enemy abilities are usable by the player and they will be listed inside the Talent command for the playable characters. Since temporary party members cannot transform, they cannot use the abilities below.

Mechanics[]

Every species outside of the humans/mutant classes has innate abilities called talents. The available talents depend only on the species and doesn't change unless species changes.

Some talents are selected as the action in combat, and some are passive and cannot be selected. A few talents can be used actively but also automatically counterattack when the creature is hit by a physical attack. Talents are used at half power as counterattacks.

Talent damage depends on the user's Attack and maximum HP, the talent power and base damage, and a skill factor. Robot talents are used with 50% more skill by robots.

Some attacks have no apparent attribute. These attacks cannot be protected against and no enemies have a weakness against it.

Except for the two version of Remedy, all active talents are directed at enemies. If targeting a group of enemies, damage is divided by the number of enemies in the group. Targeting single or all enemies does full damage. This is the same as with weapons and magic.

Dk-Virus Can inflict Mute, Pois, Para, Conf, Sleep, and Petri. Inflicts two random statuses on all enemies at 100%.
StonSkin Inflicts Petri Automatically counterattacks by inflicting the Petri status.
StonGaze Inflicts Petri Turns one enemy to stone.
