The Sword of Kings (覇王の剣, Haō no Ken?, lit. Supreme King's Sword) is a recurring sword in the series. It originates from Final Fantasy XII as a sword that belonged to the Dynast King Raithwall with the power to cut nethicite.

Final Fantasy XII[]
The Sword of Kings is a two-handed greatsword obtained in the Stilshrine of Miriam as part of the story.
In the original version it boasts an Attack power of 30 and an Evade of 30 with a 25% chance to perform multiple hits. It requires no license to equip. Stat-wise, it is identical to the Treaty-Blade. All greatswords have 2.47s charge, and 1.2s action time, making them average when it comes to attacking speed.
Despite being able to cut through nethicite, Sword of Kings is a fairly weak weapon. Its only special quality being a high combo rate and that it can't knockback opponents even if other greatswords can. Sword of Kings cannot be sold.
In the Zodiac versions, it now provides 53 Attack, 30 Evade, 20% combo rate, and can be equipped by all jobs. Additional copies can be stolen from Belias on the tenth stage of the Trial Mode.
Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy[]
The Sword of Kings appears as Vaan's second exclusive weapon, with ATK +63 and EX Core Absorption +20%.
Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia[]
Sword of Kings is Ashe's EX Weapon, giving her the EX Ability Maelstrom's Bolt.
However, along with the usual added benefits of limit breaking the weapon's passive to give it a faster recast speed and higher bravery damage potency, max limit breaking the weapon adds a 100% paralysis rate on Maelstrom's Bolt's usage, along with an automatic followup of Ark Blast (a 5-hit BRV+HP Attack that inflicts thunder damage to a single target).

Vaan wields the Sword of Kings, even if he wasn't associated with the weapon in Final Fantasy XII, as the player can assign any weapon to any character, and thus character-specific ultimate weapons do not exist.

A legendary sword from the distant world of Ivalice. It was bequeathed to the Dynast-King Raithwall by the gods, and received its name for its usage in uniting all of Ivalice. A certain princess of Dalmasca and descendant of the Dynast-King obtained this very blade at an ancient temple.
Description
Sword of Kings (FFXII) is a sword obtained as the Super Trust Master Reward from Dethroned Heroine Ashe. It provides 120 ATK, 22 DEF, 171 MAG, 22 SPR, enables usage of the ability Power to Destroy Nethicite, and mitigates magic damage for the user by 25%.

Etymology[]
A sword is a blade weapon used primarily for cutting or thrusting. The precise definition of the term varies with the historical epoch or the geographical region under consideration. A sword in the most narrow sense consists of a straight blade with two edges and a hilt. However, in nearly every case, the term may also be used to refer to weapons with a single edge (backsword).
