Swamp Mafdet is a rare enemy from Final Fantasy X fought in Via Purifico under the city of Bevelle after Yuna is put on trial. It shares the same model as the Mafdet.

Stats[edit | edit source]

Battle[edit | edit source]

Unlike previous Helms, the Swamp Mafdet's attacks do not cause Slow, and it uses an attack with reduced accuracy against aeons and does nothing when Provoked. Auron and Kimahri's Piercing weapons are effective.

In the original Japanese version, Swamp Mafdets do not reward any AP, gil, or equipment when defeated, nor do they have any Steal, Drop, or Bribe items. In the original North American version, Swamp Mafdets will drop weapons with Strength +3% and Magic +3% instead of Distill Power.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

In Egyptian mythology, Mafdet was a feline goddess representing justice and executions. Her image serves as a warning on many chambers and tombs with riches inside.
