XIV Susano artwork

Concept artwork of Susano in Final Fantasy XIV.

Susano (スサノオ, Susanoo?), also known as Susano-o, is a recurring summon in the series.

Originally appearing as a summon exclusive to the Bravely series of games, Susano has since appeared in certain entries in the Final Fantasy series. He is commonly depicted as a powerful swordsman wielding a massive sword.

Appearances

Final Fantasy XIV

Susano, also known as the Lord of Revel, is the Primal of the Kojin beast tribe in the second expansion. He is summoned completely accidentally, and under his own power, as three treasures—a mirror, a jewel, and his sword, all believed to harbor powerful kami by the Kojin—are brought together. Fittingly, he is a primal aspected to both water and lightning, and in the turning phase of his fight vanishes to incarnate himself as a massive, watery version of himself which must have its sword strikes deflected.

Bravely Default

Susano-o is the level 6 Summon for the Summoner learned at job level 10. It deal non-elemental damage to all enemies. Note that this attack is not affected by Reflect. It costs 60 MP to use. It is obtained after defeating the anchorite of war on the Kustra Archipelago.

Susano-o is the level 6 Invocation ability for the Conjurer learned at job level 13. It raises critical rate by 500% for 10 turns. The upper limit for crit rate is 1000%. It costs 90 MP to use.

Bravely Second: End Layer

Susano-o is a level 4 Summon for the Summoner learned at job level 9. It deals dark damage to all enemies and cannot be reflected. It costs 60 MP to use. It can be obtained in the Geneolgia Crypts after defeating the Anchorite of War.

Upon reaching job level 11, the Summoner is able to augment their abilities, similar to the Invocation skillset of the Conjurer from Bravely Default. Susano-o, when augmented, raises the critical hit rate to maximum for ten turns and cannot be reflected. The upper limit for critical rate is 500%. It costs 90 MP to use.
