Supportive items are all the items on the Final Fantasy series whose effect consists on increasing stats or granting positive status effects to the target. In some games, these items can be classified in other types, specially as miscellaneous. Some of the most recurring items of this type are the Light and Lunar Curtains, which usually grant the Protect and Shell status, respectively, and the Bacchus's Wine, which increases strength or grants the target the Berserk status. Some Ninja scrolls also possess supportive effects.

In most games, these items are scarce and rare, and can only be obtained in few chests, enemy drops, or by using the Steal ability.

In the recent remakes of old Final Fantasy games, the increase of supportive items were one of the changes, most notably, to the Dawn of Souls and 20th Anniversary remakes of Final Fantasy.
