The Superball, also known as the Super Ball, is a weapon for Yuffie in Final Fantasy VII. It can first be won at Fort Condor. Superball has above average stats and a critical hit rate boost, but no Materia slots. Superball is Yuffie's joke weapon.

Obtained

Superball is won from the sixth Condor War battle at Fort Condor. This is available after the date at the Gold Saucer in "Secret Date".

Later, it can be purchased at Junon for 3,000 gil after the player has the Highwind.

Mechanics

The Superball has a base Attack stat bonus of 68. This means the base damage for physical attacks when it is equipped is in the following formula:

where "Level" is Yuffie's current level and "Strength" is her Strength stat. The Superball also has an Attack% (Accuracy) of 120%, and grants a +10 bonus to Yuffie's Magic stat. Superball also increases Yuffie's critical hit rate by +4%.

The Superball has a high Attack boost for when it is first available, and a strong critical hit rate boost, making it strong for Yuffie's physical damage. However, it is difficult and rare to acquire, meaning it should not be prioritized, and given that it is possible to build Yuffie towards magic damage, Superball is a missable weapon.

Yuffie has access to multi-hit Limit Breaks, and being a ranged character makes her a useful physical attacker as she can stay in the back row without penalty. However, Yuffie's stats are average across the board, meaning she does not excel at physical damage. Superball is limiting for Yuffie, hardlocking her into a role she is viable for, but does not excel at. If the weapon is used, Yuffie should equip armor with many Materia slots, such as Gold Armlet or Diamond Bangle, to equip Independent and Command Materia.

Superball is a middling choice for Yuffie, useful only in a variety of playstyles. Later, Yuffie has access to the Crystal Cross and many other weapons that outclass Superball's damage output without the limit of a lack of Materia slots, meaning the Superball is largely skippable. Another better choice for Yuffie is the Magic Shuriken, which has similar stats, is easier to acquire, and has three Materia slots.
