The Summoner is a job in Final Fantasy Dimensions obtained at the start of the story, and is shared by both parties. It is used for summoning Eidolons.
Appearance[]
The party wears robes with a horn accessory on their heads. While Nacht dons a navy blue outfit, Sol wears red robes, while Aigis wears green robes. Male Summoners have necklaces with green gems, while female summoners have necklaces with red gems.
Overview[]
The Summoner occupies a unique spot in Final Fantasy Dimensions in terms of its progression. Unlike the White and Black Mage, whose spells must be bought as the story progresses, the Summoner instead gains Eidolons by defeating them in boss battles in optional dungeons towards the end of each chapter. Additionally, the Eidolons are split between both groups and remain separate until the parties eventually merge in the late-game. In the early-game, it is thus useful to equip the Summoner with additional abilities and Fusion Abilities to broaden their offensive abilities. Although magically focused, a Summoner lags behind the Black Mage in Intelligence and a White Mage in Mind, though are still more potent in both stats than a Red Mage. They suffer from poor physical stats, including speed, but have more freedom in their equipment choices. Rods, staves, and whips allow them more optimization; Mind for Unicorn healing, Intelligence for damage, or whips for a speed boost. As they level up, Summoner helps provide access to a number of Fusion Abilities, such as Grand Delta and Deep Freeze. A number of their Fusion Abilities are useful for leveling Red Mage, who otherwise lack spells with power comparable to Firaga, Thundaga, and Blizzaga.
Statistics[]
Summoners have high MP, Intellect and Mind, below average Speed, poor HP, Strength and Vitality.
