The Stroper (ストローパー, Sutorōpā?, lit. Storoper) is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in Final Fantasy III. It is typically a carnivorous plant, sometimes being a variant of the morbol.

Final Fantasy III[]
The Stroper appears as an enemy encountered in the Sewers of Amur. It is of no threat to the party, although it can inflict Paralysis with its basic attacks.
Final Fantasy V[]
The Stroper appears as an enemy encountered in the Pirates' Hideout. it is one of the first enemies the party will encounter.
Final Fantasy IX[]
The Stroper appears as an enemy encountered in the Iifa Tree. It is a mildly powerful foe, hitting the party with its physical attack Swing, but is otherwise not a big threat, especially if one uses a Soft to instantly defeat it. Having Quina eat it will teach them LV5 Death.

Final Fantasy XIV[]
The Stroper appears as an enemy encountered in the Sorrel Haven region of the Central Shroud and the Lower Paths region of the South Shroud. Being the lowest-level member of the morbol family, it provides the earliest opportunity for Blue Mages to learn the Bad Breath spell.
