"Storm of Blood" (血の嵐, Chi no Arashi?), also known as "Stormblood", is a song from Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood, composed by Masayoshi Soken, arranged by Yoshitaka Suzuki, and orchestrated by Sachiko Miyano, with lyrics written by Michael-Christopher Koji Fox and Banri Oda.

It plays in the opening movie of the game. It is a medley featured tracks from the game including the "Prelude" of the Final Fantasy series and "Crimson Sunrise".

"Storm of Blood" plays in the opening movie of the game since version 4.0.

An Orchestrion roll can be obtained as a reward from the 2017 edition of the seasonal event The Rising.

It is the 1st track in Stormblood: Final Fantasy XIV Original Soundtrack.

Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker[]

The motif of "Storm of Blood" is incorporated in "Endwalker - Footfalls".

Lyrics[]

The lyrics were released on the Stormblood: Final Fantasy XIV Original Soundtrack along with the Japanese translation. With the release of Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, the lyrics were revisited on the Developers' Blog.[1][2]

Eorzean Symphony: Final Fantasy XIV Orchestral Album Vol.2[]

"Painted Red" is an orchestral arrangement of "Storm of Blood" and "Crimson Sunrise". A concert performance of "Painted Red" orchestrated by Sachiko Miyano for the Eorzean Symphony was recorded and appears on this album. It was conducted by Hirofumi Kurita and performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Nikikai Chorus Group, with Kinya Sogawa playing the shakuhachi.

It is also in the Eorzean Symphony: Final Fantasy XIV Orchestral Album Vol.2 (Concert version).
