Stoneja in Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings.

Stoneja (ストンジャ, Sutonja?, lit. Stonja), also known as Stone IV, is a recurring spell in the Final Fantasy series. It is usually the strongest Earth-elemental spell.

Appearances[]

Final Fantasy XI[]

Stoneja is an area of effect spell available to high-level Black Mages (level 81). It deals Earth damage, and successive use enhances spell potency.

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings[]

Stoneja is used only by Hashmal. It deals massive earth-elemental damage in an area centered around a chosen target.

Final Fantasy XIV[]

Hotkey.

Stone IV (Stoneja in Japanese) is a White Mage ability available at level 64. It will automatically replace Stone III due to the Stone Mastery III trait learned at level 64. The ability deals earth-elemental damage with a potency of 250 to a single enemy. The ability has a cast time of 2.5 seconds and a recast time of 2.5 seconds.

Final Fantasy Dimensions II[]

Stoneja is a summon attack available only to Morrow, Wrieg, Jornee, and the Deathlord. Morrow can use the ability when equipped with his second Lich signet. Wrieg has access to the attack when equipped with his Seismische signet. Jornee can use the ability when she is equipped with her final Titan signet. The Deathlord can only use the attack when equipped with his Scarmiglione signet. Titan and Scarmiglione's versions of Stoneja deal moderate to heavy earth-elemental damage to all enemies and costs 2 bars from the Summon Gauge to perform. Lich and Seismische's version of Stoneja deals heavy earth-elemental damage to all enemies and costs 3 bars from the Summon Gauge to perform.

In the original free-to-play versions, Stoneja was the summon ability of the Earth Gigas, Lich, Scarmiglione, and Titan god-tier summons. The ability functioned the same as the premium release, however it was significantly weaker in potency.

Final Fantasy Record Keeper[]

The default Stoneja skill is a Rank 4 Black Magic ability that deals one hit of high earth-elemental damage to one target. It requires Greater Black and Earth Orbs to hone its uses. However, due to the release of higher tier Black Magic spells that deal multiple earth-elemental attacks, Stoneja is often considered a weak ability to forge. Certain characters also have Stoneja force equipped during specific Record Dungeons.

A stronger multi-hit version of Stoneja also exists, known as Chain Stoneja (連続ストンジャ, Renzoku Sutonja?, lit. Continuous Stonja). It is a rank 6 Black Magic ability that deals five strong earth-elemental attacks to a single target. In order to craft the ability, players are required to obtain its ability record by purchasing it with Record Rubies, which can only be obtained by progressing through Cardia end-game dungeons. It also requires Black, Fire, and Earth Crystals to craft. In addition to Meltdown, Brothers, and Hero specific record abilities, Chain Stoneja is one of the most desired earth-elemental magic abilities for end-game activities and popular to use in conjunction with EX Mode follow-up commands triggered by earth-elemental attacks, such as the Onion Knight's Onion Magic.

Stoneja also appears as an enemy ability available to the Titan (Earth King) Magicite content boss. Titan's version of Stoneja hits all targets of the opposing enemy party, while ignoring their resistances.
