Cloud statstream 1 from VIIEC

Statstreams (キャラクターストリーム, Kyarakutā Sutorīmu?, lit. Character Stream) are the character development system in Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. A node-centric system akin to the Sphere Grid of Final Fantasy X, statstreams allow players to augment the playable cast as well as acquired summons by way of item farming. This feature unlocks separately for character and summon units alongside the required resource quests upon completing specific missions. In the new update, they added new statsreams for enemy abilities that can be used in battle.

Mechanics[]

Statstreams present as tree-like grids with many branching paths, each containing several nodes with individual stat increases.

Character statstreams[]

Activating any single node requires at least one of the following consumables in pre-defined amounts, depending on the type of node:

  • Power Pieces
  • Magic Pieces
  • Healing Pieces
  • Character's Memories
  • Character's Noble Memories

Once the player has all of the required parts, tapping on a node will select it for activation. Any other nodes in the immediate path to the node selected will also be activated, provided that the player has enough Pieces and Memories to travel along the desired branch. To proceed, the player must press the Unlock button on the selected node's information pane.

Overspeed and Role Streams[]

Each of the current units is assigned a specialist role in-game based on their innate capabilities in battle. These roles are Attacker, Tank, Healer, Supporter, and Unknown. When a unit reaches Level 90 and has cleared their specific Battle Tower in addition to meeting other requirements, they will become eligible to access their individual role streams and the Overspeed associated with their role. Overspeeds provide additional stat boosts and ability enhancements during battle, operating from an independent ATB gauge that recharges over time. Each role also occupies its own slot on the unit's command menu. The player can use Overspeeds at any time when the Overspeed gauge reaches a percentage defined by the skill's level.

Upgrading an Overspeed is similar to upgrading a character's base stats, the difference being that the process requires Role Memories and Role Noble Memories obtained via events from February 2025 forward.

Summon statstreams[]

In order to access the statstreams for each summon, the player must first defeat the summon in battle, and then complete a series of mission requests listed on the information pane. Once all missions have been completed, the player can form a pact with the summon that can then be installed in a character's Limit slot. Summon statstreams behave in the same fashion as character statstreams, though each node simply raises the summon's ATB speed or damage potential by fractions of a percentage point. Individual nodes require the Summon's Memories or Noble Memories and items otherwise used to create and upgrade materia crystals.

Limit breaks and Summon abilities[]

Each character or summon has access to three or two abilities, respectively, on their individual statstream, with the first move already learned by default. Accessing the second or third move requires the player to perform a list of tasks unique to the desired character or summon; once activated, both abilities can be upgraded through the standard node activation process.

Enemy Ability statstream[]

An Enemy Ability allows the player to call a guest character that has been challenged previously. The player must have acquired the base ability from the event campaign that initially offered it. Memory shards are typically available from an accompanying exchange as well as a corresponding Escalation Challenge within the same event. Some shards may become available in the global exchanges after the event has closed.
