Wintry weather has settled in across the realm, and the citizens of Eorzea have begun preparing for this year's Starlight Celebration. The time has come to deck the halls with festive decorations and delight others with heartfelt surprises─who will you remember during this season of giving?[1]
The Ties to Remember was the 2023 edition of the seasonal event Starlight Celebration in Final Fantasy XIV.
The event was started by accepting the Blue Starlight sidequest by talking to Bearded Lady at Mih Khetto's Amphitheatre in Old Gridania (X:10.2 Y:9.4)
History[]
Amh Garanjy, said that this year, the Starlight Celebration are paying homage to the Saint of Nymeia with special recreations of his classic outfits. Such a countenance is sure to enchant any young person. As they talk, Saulinne, a young girl concerned about an unfortunate boy, asks the Warrior of Light to help him.[2]

The boy is Tenny, who has just moved from Ul'dah to Gridania due to his father's work, and this is his first Starlight away from his friends in Ul'dah and he felt guilty for abandoning his friends. The Warrior of Light finds a solution to the problem, which would be to send gifts to these friends, a decision supported by the Saint of Nymeia.[2]

The Warrior of Light dresses up as a Saint of Nymeia and takes the gifts to Tenny's friends: Momolao, Larkin, and Othuel. The Warrior of Light delivers the gifts. Once back in Gridania, the Warrior of Light reports and brings a gift from Ul'dah's friends to Tenny. Tenny is touched by the thoughtfulness of his friends. Saulinne is relieved that the melancholy boy she was so worried about is now free to play as any child should, and the two youngsters recognize the growing friendship between them.[3]

Ameliance and Fourchenault during "Starlight Surprise" sidequest.
After completing the Together at a Distance quest, the player could do the repeatable quest Starlight Surprise. This quest consisted of the player delivering gifts and meeting familiar NPCs. The gift options were: "A deluxe Bismarck poundcake." (Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn), "A pair of warm Fen–Yll boots." (Kan-E-Senna and her Keeper), "A Sunsilk Tapestries winter coat." (Momodi Modi), "A mammet produced by the Skysteel Manufactory." (Honoroit Banlardois), "A pair of mittens knitted with Azim Steppe wool." (Magnai Oronir), "A Sharlayan ring of wisdom." (Ameliance and Fourchenault Leveilleur).

Similar to the other seasonal events, depending on which questlines the player has completed, it is possible to see familiar NPCs during the Starlight Celebration. They are: Saulinne, Tenny, Tataramu, Kamlito Halito, Isainne, Rhoswen Leach, Carvallain de Gorgagne, Zhloe Aliapoh, Khloe Aliapoh, Laurenssen and Blitzen.
