Stardust is a battle item item in Final Fantasy VII that casts Comet2.

Stardust is only available in the Battle Square after obtaining the Highwind.
Mechanics[]
Unlike when casting the Comet2 spell, using the Stardust does not take the user's stats into account in determining damage. The final damage is calculated as (distributed to up to four targets):

Use[]
Stardust casts the Comet2 spell, which makes it useful for challenge runs. However, in normal runs, the item will not see much use, especially if the player has leveled up the Comet Materia to get Comet2, as it will deal more damage through the Materia than through the item and the player can pair Comet with Support Materia to enhance it further.
Etymology[]
Stardust is a type of cosmic dust composed of particles in space. Cosmic dusts are miniature particles, which resemble dust itself. When cosmic dusts form a cloud in space, any light from stars will be refracted and nebulae will be formed. Although called "dust", stardust can refract more light depending on its size due to its refractory minerals.
