Stadia was a cloud-based gaming service from Google that debuted in November 2019. Similar in concept to G-Cluster, Stadia allowed players to stream and play select games on a range of devices. As well, the service supported modern video standards such as HDR color balancing and framerates of up to 60 FPS.
Stadia services did not require the purchase of any Google hardware. There was an optional paid subscription called Stadia Pro, although it was not required to purchase or play games on Stadia.
Due to low interest, Stadia ended service on January 18, 2023 following a wind-down announced in September 2022.[1] Google also reimbursed all registered Stadia users in full and, following a post-service update, enabled Stadia gamepads to operate as third-party replacements for consoles and PCs with Bluetooth equipped.
