Square Enix Magazine & Book (マガジン&ブックス, Magajin to Bukkusu?) is a website which indexes Japanese books published by Square Enix. Following the collapse of subsidiary DigiCube, Square Enix took over its roles as publisher.
Many of these books are simply published under the generic "Square Enix" brand, however game guides and magazines use the "SE-Mook" brand. Novelizations of games use the "Game Novels" imprint. The "Gangan Comics" imprint (originally owned by Enix prior to merging with Square) is used for manga.
Square Enix Manga & Books is a Square Enix subsidiary focused on licensing and publishing the Japanese manga and books to English audiences.

Ultimania[edit | edit source]
The Ultimania series is a series of guide books edited by Studio BentStuff originally focusing on Square's RPG series. The Ultimania series was originally published by DigiCube, however most of them were later republished by Square Enix after its termination. Prior to working directly with Square, Studio BentStuff created two books for Square Enix in its Kaitai Shinsho series pubilshed by Famitsu. Studio BentStuff also edit the Official Guide Book series for Dragon Quest titles. In recent years, guide books for games unrelated to Square Enix but edited by Studio BentStuff have been published by Square Enix with the Ultimania title, starting with Resident Evil: Revelations 2.
Official Complete Guide[edit | edit source]
The Official Complete Guides (公式コンプリートガイド, Kōshiki Konpurīto Gaido?) titles are guide books released for games as an alternative to Ultimania. They are more like traditional guide books and provide a guide to complete the game and data on all the features within, but do not focus heavily on lore and secrets. They do still often include interviews and artwork.
The Final Fantasy XIV guides with "Official Complete Guide" in their title are not listed here because they use the word オフィシャル (Ofisharu?) in their Japanese title.
