Squall is a one-of-a-kind Triple Triad card in Final Fantasy VIII used to play the minigame and for turning into items with Quezacotl's Card Mod. Squall is the hundred and tenth card in the inventory and the final Level 10 card. It depicts Squall Leonhart, the main playable character of the main party. Even if the player renames him, the card is always called "Squall". The card values mirror Seifer's card. If the player were to procure every card as early as possible, Squall would be the final card they get.

As a Level 10 Player Card, Squall has great values with a 9 and an A, which represents the value 10 for the minigame and is unbeatable without special rules. It is excellent for capturing a corner position. It may also be useful for games that use Same and/or Plus.

Laguna asked to play cards from FFVIII Remastered

Laguna holds Squall's card.

Laguna holds Squall's card and he plays with Esthar region rules. The earliest the player can get Squall's card is when meeting Laguna at the Esthar City palace very late into the game. Laguna comes onboard the party's airship, and the party can challenge him to card games in the passengers' room.

If the player completed the Card Club quest before the point of no return (fighting the boss atop the Lunatic Pandora), the club members will appear aboard the Ragnarok in the endgame, from whom the player can win all Level 8–10 cards they do not currently hold in their deck, even the cards they had modified before. This also allows the player to modify the Squall card and then win it back.

Card Mod[]

The Squall card refines into 3 Three Stars, which teach the Expendx3-1 ability to a Guardian Force, allowing the caster to only use up one spell when using magic under Triple. This ability can be useful, but Eden already learns it natively. Three Stars also refine into full stocks of Triples, which may be a better use of the item. However, the player can also get Three Stars from the superbosses and the Obel Lake sidequest.
