The Sprinter (スプリンター, Supurintā?), also known as the Loper, is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in Final Fantasy II. It is typically a large flightless bird.

The Sprinter, also known as the Loper, appears as an enemy encountered in the Fynn, Semitt Falls, Poft, and Paloom areas. It is a decently powerful enemy when first encountered, but otherwise isn't too difficult to defeat. The Sprinter always appears alone.
Final Fantasy VI[]
The Sprinter appears as an enemy encountered in the Jidoor, Miranda, and Narshe regions in the World of Ruin. It primarily attacks by depleting the party's MP with Osmose Beak and healing itself and its allies with White Wind, but otherwise are not difficult foes. Strago Magus can learn White Wind from the Sprinter.
Final Fantasy XII[]
The Sprinter appears as an enemy encountered in the Salikawood. It is a somewhat dangerous enemy, as it has high Evasion and access to the ability Stone Gaze, as well as the Augments Full-HP ATK+ and Low-HP ATK+, increasing its Attack at both full and critical HP levels.
